San Francisco Wedding Venue
301 Battery Street
San Francisco, California 94111
We always get asked about mansions in San Francisco and, to tell you the truth, there aren’t many that can accommodate a large wedding reception indoors. Although the Bently Reserve is not exactly a mansion, it does possess the elegant, understated grandeur you’d expect from a palatial estate. And it can handle quite a crowd.
Originally part of the lobby of the 1924 Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, the Banking Hall where events are held is truly awe-inspiring. This remarkable space, lined with two rows of 25-foot-tall Ionic columns, recalls both the affluence of the Roaring 20s and the Gatsby Era’s penchant for reveling amid luxury: The hall is lavished in real and faux European marble; the entry doors are solid bronze; and two spectacular bronze chandeliers draw your eyes up to the soaring 34-foot coffered ceiling. For a supremely theatrical entrance, descend the imperial bronze-and-marble double stairway, which flows from the mezzanine down to the gleaming marble main floor.
Ceremonies here are nothing short of majestic. The built-in architectural elements, like the columns and mezzanine, provide a natural framework for staging your vows. Add your own embellishments—sheer draping, floral displays, and luminarias along the wedding aisle, for example—to heighten the glamorous, chapel-like ambiance. Whether you’re entertaining an intimate group for a rehearsal dinner or a gala for up to 800, you’ll be celebrating in high style.
The landmark venue’s most recent addition is the versatile Couples Lounge, where wedding parties can get ready and couples can relax in private before the big event. The room is both chic and comfortable, and a 46≤ flat screen TV linked to a camera inside the Banking Hall allows couples to view the arrival of their guests and other preparations taking place in the hall.
A stunning mix of both modern and traditional, the Bentley Reserve is included in the National Register of Historic Places. So if you have an extended guest list and are searching for a unique and impressive location in The City, you couldn’t ask for a better spot.
