Why We Like This Place
Entering The St. Regis San Francisco for the first time feels a little like waltzing into the Manhattan townhouse of a good friend with impeccable taste, an unlimited budget, and a penchant for art and design. In this posh new high-rise hotel, every single surface and element fits together seamlessly so that one is flooded with a sense of comfort and a little awe at the beauty of it all. Here, sumptuous Italian furniture meets hand-blown light fixtures and a world-class art collection—and that’s just the beginning.
Located at Third and Mission Streets, The St. Regis has joined the ranks of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in making this area an undisputed hotbed of culture and style. Starting with the lobby, you encounter large vibrant murals, textured leather walls, sleek couches, and lighting and music that evoke an upscale lounge. Plus, the décor throughout the hotel shares an overarching color scheme that soothes: neutral tones of ecru and brown with subtle purple accents sprinkled in.
The first twenty floors of this structure contain the restaurant, event venues, spa, and guestrooms, while the upper floors provide residence for the lucky few. For those looking to throw an epic celebration, three floors dedicated to events offer options galore.
On level two is a pair of the most impressive event spaces we’ve encountered. Far from being big empty rooms, they feature seventeen-foot ceilings with custom-made glass light fixtures that resemble intricate clusters of vines embedded with glittering purple flowers. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto Yerba Buena Gardens, and gray-purple carpet and walls make a cool backdrop for your festivities. Receptions are accommodated here with ease, as are dancing and cake cutting. Right outside the two rooms (which can be combined for large parties), guests flow into a glass atrium with a continuing view of thriving Third Street below.
Up on level four, the Yerba Buena Terrace provides an enormous decadent spot for ceremonies and receptions. Gold Jerusalem marble, and modular teak furniture set the stage for an outdoor fête that overlooks treetops and the urban scene beyond. Brides often choose to tent the space as a hedge against unpredictable weather, and clear sides give guests the best of an outdoor/indoor experience.
Adjacent to the Terrace are three smaller event rooms called the Modernist, Impressionist and Conservatory Suites. Featuring linen-covered walls and aubergine carpets, they further reflect the integration of art and design that distinguishes The St. Regis.
The St. Regis was designed by people who have mastered the art of lavish comfort and impeccable service. The positively serene Remède Spa pampers brides and grooms, and if that’s not enough, the hotel’s butler service assures that your stay approaches perfection. Wedding menus are also exceptional: They focus on inventive customized cuisine made predominantly from organic local foods. For a wedding that’s inspired on every level, The St. Regis San Francisco doesn’t disappoint. Here, you can have a celebration that truly reflects your taste for the finer things in life.
