Why We Like This Place

Whoever invented the phrase “storybook wedding” must have attended one at Silver Creek Valley Country Club (SCVCC). Every last detail at this upscale facility has been carefully thought out to ensure the most memorable experience possible for all guests.

Driving into the club, you pass through a master-planned gated community. Here, swaying palms keep watch over sprawling houses that echo the earth tones of nearby Mount Hamilton and the adjoining foothills. At the end of a long, curving driveway stands the main clubhouse, a golden-hued edifice reminiscent of an Italian villa. Inside, every visitor experiences stunning grandeur and personalized service.

As you make your way through the expansive foyer, you immediately take note of the marble flooring and large columns. However, what really commands your attention is the imposing and ornate rotunda. Encircled by gold-tipped wrought iron and capped by a vast domed skylight, it soars over dual curving staircases that descend to the floor below. (Note that photographers love to pose the wedding party on the landing halfway down the stairs. Flooded with light, it’s a prime spot for photos.)

French doors off the foyer lead to the Yerba Buena Ballroom, Silver Creek’s main event space. Like the rest of the building’s valley-facing side, this unusual crescent-shaped room features a back wall made entirely of glass. Every guest enjoys spectacular views of the championship golf course and the evergreen valley beyond, and at night thousands of twinkling lights from the surrounding homes yield a panorama that’s even more dramatic.

The Ballroom’s décor creates a seamless visual connection with the outdoor scenery: Pale green carpets and drapes and beige walls reflect the palette of the surrounding hills and foliage. Overhead, three Mediterranean-modern chandeliers cast a warm glow, while a cream-colored marble floor in the center invites everyone to dance.

If you have a smaller-sized gathering, or you’d like to serve cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while pictures are being taken, consider the adjoining Chaboya Lounge. This L-shaped space boasts a wood-paneled, granite-topped bar, cozy fireplace, and a terracotta patio that shares the club’s sweeping vistas.

Have you always dreamed of saying your vows in an exotic South Sea setting? Silver Creek Valley Country Club can save you the plane fare. It’s just a short pleasant walk from the clubhouse to a majestic waterfall, where couples exchange vows on a raised flagstone Ceremony Landing at the base of this triple-level water feature. Or get married in front of the Cypress Dome with your guests seated on a rolling expanse of lawn. The site itself is certainly photogenic, but photographers also like to snap pictures of the bride and bridesmaids arriving via golf cart (the SCVCC mode of transport), as well as the just-marrieds departing for the reception in the same fashion.

Fees & Deposits

Rental fees for weddings and events range $5,000–10,000 depending on event date. Rental fees for meetings start at $250. Meals range $34–128/person. Tax, alcohol and a 20% service charge are additional. Valet parking service is available upon request.
