It used to be off limits to all but the Army brass. But after an extensive renovation, the beautiful Presidio Officers’ Club has opened its doors to everyone and is now reporting for duty as a premier event venue situated in one of the world’s most spectacular settings.
In redesigning the building, the architects wisely preserved the club’s gracious Mission Revival-style façade, set off by two handsomely crafted bronze cannons flanking the entrance. Step inside, however, and you’ll find some welcome enhancements: an exhibition gallery, a fine-dining restaurant, and room for bigger and better galas.
On the main floor, the Hardie Courtyard is clearly a dynamic spot for an intimate and sophisticated cocktail gathering. A short trip up the elevator or carpeted stairway will take you to the public View Terrace, the broad and comfortably appointed foyer just outside the Ortega Ballroom. The panorama afforded from the terrace and its adjacent balcony is exceptional, but inside the Ortega Ballroom, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and L-shaped balcony, that view becomes truly phenomenal. Wedding receptions, ceremonies, corporate meetings, fundraisers—every kind of affair can be held here. Clean and crisp, with a bright, modern feel, the ballroom has a vaulted ceiling beamed in lightly distressed pine. Other accents incorporate touches of caramel and chocolate that warm up the space and add the perfect dash of color and style.
And don’t forget: The Presidio is a National Historic Landmark District and a gorgeous national park site. Arguello restaurant is located on the first floor of the Officers’ Club, and the Chapel of our Lady and the Inn at the Presidio are literally right next door. Hiking trails, bike routes, beaches, picnic grounds, campsites, museums and restaurants surround you. If you’re planning to leave your heart in San Francisco, there is no better place.

EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The Ballroom holds 160 seated or 250 standing guests.
MEETING CAPACITY: The Ballroom, which can be sectioned, accommodates 40–300 seated guests.
A nonrefundable $350 booking fee is required to secure your date and will be applied to the total rental fee. 50% of this fee is due with a signed permit. The balance of the event rental fee, insurance fee and security deposit are due 90 days prior to the event date. The venue fee ranges $4,000–7,500 depending on the spaces reserved and the day and time rented.
