Tucked behind the ever-so-popular Beach Chalet Brewery & Restaurant, this cool, relaxed and unequivocally green gem of a venue might be your party paradise.

The main structure, an airy restaurant walled and roofed in glass, effortlessly incorporates the vitality and energy of its fabulous park setting. Warm even on chilly nights, it boasts a handsome bar, radiant-heated floors and a massive natural stone fireplace—the perfect indoor backdrop for tying the knot with a nod to the great open spaces. It’s difficult not to wax poetic about a place where you can dine and dance amid the glow of garden-style lanterns or under a starry canopy regardless of the season. This wonderful ambiance is accompanied by delicious fare, which includes dishes like bacon seared sea scallops or lamb sliders and beverages highlighted by a selection of the outstanding handcrafted beers brewed on site.

The options for seamless entertaining make excellent use of the scenic outdoors. Walls on three sides of the restaurant roll back and disappear, affording unencumbered access to the patio, gardens and lawns—all fantastic canvases for ceremonies and receptions when the weather is right. Imagine cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres on the broad patio, dancing on the veranda, or a series of chic little party cabanas set up in the garden and on the south lawns. Coffee and food stations, satellite bars, dessert buffets, fire pits, horseshoes, and bocce ball can be easily arranged—from high-end wine pairings to margaritas and botanas, the festive possibilities here are many and fun-filled.

If your family and friends would like to do a little exploring between activities, they can check out the Golden Gate Park Visitor’s Center next door on the ground floor of the building that houses the Beach Chalet Brewery & Restaurant. Originally built as a city-run restaurant, today it features a small museum and some fine examples of historic WPA frescoes. Or, for an unforgettable experience, invite everyone to stroll along the paths with a fiddler in the lead, a troupe of mariachis or a Dixieland trumpet or two. Nearby attractions like Queen Wilhelmina’s Windmill and the rainbow-hued Dutch Tulip Garden are doubly rewarding—your guests will enjoy visiting them and you’ll love how they enhance your wedding photos!

CEREMONY CAPACITY: Ceremonies may be held outdoors in conjunction with a wedding reception of 100 or more.

EVENT/RECEPTION & MEETING CAPACITY: Indoors, the semi-private space accommodates 30–70 seated. Parties of 80–120 seated (or 200 standing) require a full restaurant buyout for exclusive use. For larger groups, outdoor areas may be tented to provide additional seating (extra fee for tent rental, permits, tables & chairs). Note: A full buyout requires owner approval. Outdoor cabana rental is also available for parties of 10–200 for a casual hors d’oeuvre reception.

Fees & Deposits

50% of the food & beverage minimum is required to reserve your date and the balance is due at the conclusion of the event. For partial rental (semi-private space and/or outdoor cabanas), the rental fee ranges $150–1,500 with a food & beverage minimum of $750–7,000. The rental fee for a full buyout ranges $1,500–5,000 with a food & beverage minimum of $15,000–25,000. Entrées start at $39/person. Tax, alcohol and a 20% service charge are additional. There is a separate $1,500 rental fee for an outdoor ceremony (in conjunction with a wedding reception of 100 or more).
