Why We Like This Place

Set high in the rolling hills above Silicon Valley and nestled next to the Arastradero Open Space Preserve, the Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club boasts spectacular Bay Area vistas. And although this is one of the most prestigious private clubs in the United States, you don’t have to be a member to host a special event here.

The country club is known for its welcoming atmosphere, and its Grand Ballroom could not be more inviting. Considered one of the loveliest spaces on the Peninsula, it’s an ideal setting for any celebration. Windows on three sides showcase the golf course, signature 18th-hole green and cascading waterfall (a fabulous backdrop for a wedding ceremony and photos). The venue is also spacious enough to accommodate a seated reception for 275 with a dance floor.

The ballroom opens onto a landscaped terrace that’s popular for wedding ceremonies, rehearsal dinners or post-ceremony cocktail receptions. Your guests will appreciate both the fresh air and the irresistible View: verdant fairways bordered by majestic redwoods, pine and oak trees. The park-like setting not only brings nature into your event, it offers endless photo opportunities.

For smaller gatherings, reserve the sophisticated Members Dining Room, whose warm cherrywood walls are crisscrossed with a distinctive pattern of brass inlay. In the evening, add a romantic glow with candles on the tables, or simply enjoy the captivating panorama of city lights sparkling against the night sky.

Two meeting rooms, which can be used individually or combined, are available for rehearsal dinners.

The chef takes pride in using the freshest ingredients and supporting many local and organic farms and vendors. He and his staff have created three distinct wedding packages, but if you have something else in mind they’re happy to customize a menu for your occasion.

CEREMONY, EVENT/RECEPTION & MEETING CAPACITY: The clubhouse holds up to 275 seated or 400 standing guests, both indoors and outdoors.

Fees & Deposits

Rental fees range $500–3,000 depending on the day of the week. Meals range $85–130/person. All wedding packages include a 1-hour hors d’oeuvres reception, salad course, entrée, champagne toast and cake-cutting fee. Tax, alcohol and a 20% service charge are additional.
