Why We Like This Place

For large weddings, the Opera House is still the only game in town. Occupying a 1904 landmark brick building with crisp white trim, its 8,000 square feet can seat up to 350 guests!

Enter the downstairs foyer and wind your way up the formal sweeping staircase to the main event floor. Award-winning Bradbury & Bradbury wallpaper in blues, creams and golds adorns the stairwell. Walls and ceilings are covered with original pressed tin in 15 different Victorian motifs, and antique light fixtures abound. The Grand Ballroom has a 24-foot ceiling, with a rectangular skylight in the center that brings in natural light. From the Balcony up above, you can toss your bouquet or watch the dancing below. The lower portion of the room, called the Mezzanine, has a wall of windows facing north. Soft pastels, cream and taupe predominate, and a large mural on an upper wall facing the Ballroom depicts the Opera House’s original theater curtain.

Because of the way this facility is configured, groups of 100 or fewer won’t feel dwarfed in this space. Additional enhancements are a moveable dance floor and a beautiful turn-of-the-century-style mahogany bar. And if you haven’t been able to whittle down your invitation list, we think the Opera House is a must-see.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Mezzanine holds 100 seated; the Main Room up to 300 seated. EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The site holds 50–300 seated or 110–350 standing guests indoors. MEETING CAPACITY: The facility holds 39–300 seated conference-style or theater-style.

Fees & Deposits

A nonrefundable $1,000 deposit is required within 1 week of confirming reservations. A second deposit, the amount dependent on size and type of event, is due 180 days prior to the event. The balance for the entire event, including a $500 refundable security deposit, is due 1 week prior to your function. Customized wedding receptions are available. Meals start at $50/person, including tax and service charge. Alcohol is additional.

For weekday functions, the rental fee starts at $1,000. Food and beverage service is provided; rates will vary depending on services requested.

Availability

Year-round: Sunday–Thursday until midnight; Friday and Saturday until 1am.
