Mayacamas Ranch is more than just a nice place to have a wedding—it’s a stunning, secluded hideaway that inspires both quiet contemplation and enthusiastic celebration. The winding country road that takes you up here might give you a teensy moment’s pause, but you’re rewarded when you crest the final ridge. Stretching before you is a lavish panorama of wooded hillsides, dynamic canyons and an endless sky. The friendly “neighs” you hear come from the neighboring stables.

Ensconced in this extraordinary resort, couples guiltlessly share intimate moments, assured that their friends and family are busy having the time of their lives. There’s just so much to do here—fishing or canoeing in the lake, hiking through the surrounding wilderness, swimming-with-a-view, or simply relishing the peaceful splendor of this oasis—and it’s all exclusively yours for the entire weekend.   

The 80-acre ranch, perched on a landscaped plateau overlooking the rustic beauty of both Napa and Sonoma, is an exquisite location for a casually elegant wedding. In addition to the soul-stirring setting, a $7-million renovation has upgraded every aspect of the facility, from the plush organic bedding in the guestrooms to the fields of lavender and other fragrant flora blanketing the property.

When you hold a wedding at Mayacamas, all the guestrooms are reserved for the weekend, so many of your family and friends have time to experience the full extent of Mayacamas’ hospitality. Live Oak Lodge boasts a skylight sitting room warmed by a fire, and French doors opening to a flagstone patio. A full kitchen and dining area serve the four upper-story guestrooms, which include a romantic loft for the newlyweds. The Lodge also becomes “Wedding Central” during pre-ceremony preparations. Other guestrooms feature sweeping views and private baths, and many have sitting rooms and patios as well.

Wedding ceremonies seem to bloom out on Sunset Meadow, a pristine expanse of grass framed by hillsides cloaked in manzanita, live oak and towering madrone. Hawks soar into the valley’s updrafts, while quail and rabbit dart among the foliage. After the ceremony, follow the sweet scent of lavender fields up to Hilltop Pool or Sunrise Gardens. Sip your champagne beneath a shady trellis laden with jasmine, or from the broad decks that seem to float into the breathtaking mountain scenery.   

Outdoor receptions are delightful in the Sunset Meadow, which can also be tented. Another al fresco choice is the Sunrise Garden and Patio, where guests dine amid fragrant herbs, vegetables and bright flowerbeds, accompanied by the sound of water trickling down a three-tiered fountain.

The Garden adjoins spacious Chaparral Lodge, an indoor option for ceremonies, receptions and dancing. Chaparral’s main room feels at once upscale and countrified, with exposed wooden beams, hardwood floors, a cozy fireplace and a grand piano. A favorite spot for rehearsal dinners is the adjacent Dining Room, with its bright hacienda-style décor lending a cheery ambiance.

In fact, everything about Mayacamas Ranch is bound to leave you smiling contentedly from the beginning to the end of your event-filled weekend.

MEETING CAPACITY: The Chaparral Lodge seats 100 theater-style or 50 classroom-style and the Rock Rose Center seats 30 theater-style or 25 classroom-style.

Fees & Deposits

For weekend weddings/events, an $9,950 site fee is required at booking along with a 2-night guaranteed buyout of all guestrooms (guests may book/pay for their own rooms directly with Mayacamas). For Sunday–Thursday weddings/events, a $5,950 site fee is required at booking, but no buyout or overnight guarantee is required. Luncheons range $15–30/person and dinners range $24–54/person. Breakfast is included for overnight guests.

Mayacamas weddings are arranged exclusively through Marilyn Ambra Party Consultants, Inc. Professional event planning, design, and management services are offered to assist with your wedding or the entire weekend. Fees vary according to services provided.

Liability insurance, equipment rentals, and guest shuttle services are required and cost extra. The balance of any additional fees is due 30 days prior to your event date.
