One of the best ways to merge these scenic glories with a topnotch celebration is with Hornblower Cruises & Events. From glamorous yachts to a replica of a turn-of-the-century coastal steamer, Hornblower’s wide range of vessels combine the facilities of a fine hotel with the excitement of a bay cruise. Whether you’re planning a fabulous formal affair or a blowout blast for 2,200 of your closest friends, one of Hornblower’s San Francisco Bay-based fleet will provide a spectacular setting.

The Commodore Hornblower, a 90-foot custom-built wood yacht, comes with two decks and two bars. The Empress Hornblower docked in Sacramento, is a 100-foot vessel reminiscent of river ferryboats. Outfitted with the rich woods and shining brass typical of the Hornblower fleet, she features indoor decks, an awning-covered outdoor deck, two dance floors and two bars. The Sunset Hornblower is a 100-foot charter ship that was recently refurbished. She has two decks appointed with mahogany and brass, as well as two bars.

The newest addition to the Hornblower fleet is the 150-foot, sleek and modern San Francisco Spirit. Live large on this 400-person craft, with marble dance floors and elegant appointments that create a luxurious atmosphere.

The 183-foot California Hornblower is patterned after early 19th-century steamships and is the flagship of the Hornblower fleet. Boasting three decks, dining salons and mahogany bars, spacious promenade decks and multiple dance floors, she can handle even the largest gathering with style. For a dockside event, the Ferryboat Santa Rosa combines the charm of being on the water with the convenience of being able to come and go as you please.

One of the most impressive vessels is the 292-foot San Francisco Belle. Originally a casino riverboat, she’s been remodeled to accommodate sizable groups for special events. She’s designed with three large interior decks and an expansive sundeck.

For the ultimate green wedding, reserve the Hornblower Hybrid, an eco-showpiece powered by solar panels, wind turbines and fuel-efficient engines. At 64 feet, this re-engineered former dive boat is a fun choice for parties of 100 or fewer.

All Hornblower events include linens, china and silver. Their staff can handle as many of your wedding details as you desire, from personalized menus and invitations to photography and custom floral displays. If you get married on board, note that all of Hornblower’s captains are licensed ministers. With more than 50,000 special events and private parties to their credit, Hornblower Cruises & Events knows how to make the most of an unforgettable setting, and provide all the finery to make your celebration truly memorable.

CEREMONY, EVENT/RECEPTION & MEETING CAPACITY: Depending on the vessel selected, Hornblower’s fleet can accommodate 32–1,600 seated or 50–2,200 standing guests. The largest seated meeting capacity on one deck is 560 people.

Fees & Deposits

50% of the estimated total is required to book a vessel. A confirmed guest count is due 14 working days prior to the event; the final balance is due 7 working days prior. Custom weddings and wedding packages are available. Packages start at $69/person and include a 2 to 4½-hour cruise, meal, bar program, champagne, wedding cake, tax, service charge and landing fee. The captain performs ceremonies at no extra charge.
