There is practically no event that this versatile venue can't handle. Weddings, private and corporate parties, and rehearsal dinners in the popular Villa Emile Event Center keep this historic family winery hopping all year long. They even host a Harvest Festival every August complete with a grape stomping competition, and a Holiday Gift Faire in December.
Emilio Guglielmo, whose family passed down their winemaking craft for generations in Italy, came to the Santa Clara Valley in 1908 and by 1925 had established his winery in Morgan Hill. Today, Emilio's three grandsons run the award-winning winery, and their custom-designed event space, Villa Emile, is a pleasing complement to it. Creativity is encouraged here, and the staff will help you custom-design your event including personalized labels for small bottles of wine you can use as favors or gifts.
Villa Emile is immediately adjacent to the winery itself. Pass through the iron gates, topped by a stained-glass window with the family name "Guglielmo" encircled by grapevines, and you'll find yourself in the courtyard. This area consists of a cobblestone patio bordered by beds of assorted flowers, an ideal place for small parties or pre-dinner drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Nearby is a granite bar where wine, champagne and beer are served under an arbor covered by a luxuriant 85-year-old grapevine.
A redwood pergola and cobblestone path link the courtyard to a larger cobblestone event space, where tables and chairs can be set up under their expansive white tent. At one end of the area is an enormous covered stage supported by rugged sandstone pillars (perfect for live music or a DJ). In front of the stage, a spacious dance floor invites you to get out there and boogie. At the other end of the area is a charming red-tile-roofed arbor, where couples often exchange their wedding vows. To the right, a separate building houses a beautifully appointed dressing room for the bride and her attendants. A small balcony off this room overlooks the vineyard and rolling hills, and is a favorite spot for wedding photos.
The structures here—all built out of terracotta stucco—seem to have sprung from the earth as naturally as the grapevines themselves, and their red-tile roofs are reminiscent of Tuscany. Geraniums, lilies-of-the-Nile, and petunias add colorful accents in front of the stage and along the paths. In this lovely setting, with its relaxed, Old World ambiance, you and your guests will feel that time spent at Guglielmo Winery is time well spent indeed.
CEREMONY CAPACITY: Indoors, the Heritage Room holds up to 125 seated or 150 standing. Outdoors, the white tent accommodates 300 seated or standing.
EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The Heritage Room seats 60 and the white tent holds up to 300.
MEETING CAPACITY: The Heritage Room seats 50 theater-style or 30 conference-style.
For weddings, the rental fee starts at $1,000 for indoor events and $3,000 for outdoor events, and varies depending on the space rented, day and time of the event, and guest count. For meetings, business functions and other types of events, please contact the venue for pricing.
