Why We Like This Place

Mention the town of Gilroy and most people immediately think of farm stands, orchards and, of course—garlic! But ever since the high-tech boom of the 1980s and ‘90s, Gilroy has quietly been undergoing a transformation from a sleepy farm town to a thriving bedroom community, with fine homes, shopping centers and other amenities. The only thing missing was a sophisticated special event facility, and now, Wedgewood Wedding and Banquet Center at Eagle Ridge Golf Club has filled that niche.

As befits its name, this lovely golf club perches high on the hills above Gilroy, affording a 360-degree view of the surrounding countryside. Closer in, the greens and fairways of the golf course are draped over the golden hills like a cape of emerald velvet. Warm breezes are redolent with the scent of roses, thanks to the dozens of flourishing bushes planted in front of the clubhouse. This graceful, two-story structure was built in the “Monterey Colonial” style, combining elements from both New England and Spanish Colonial architecture. With its white clapboard siding, green shutters and wisteria-twined veranda, it looks as refreshing as a cold glass of lemonade in the summer, and quite cheerful in the midst of winter. But no matter what the time of year, the clubhouse blends in with its surroundings as effortlessly as the 100-year-old oaks that shade the golf course and adjacent countryside.

Inside, the club is every bit as appealing as it is outside. In the Lounge, you’ll find a freestanding double fireplace of brick and wood; an impressive marble-and-wood bar; and circular wrought-iron chandeliers hanging from a soaring, vaulted, open-beamed ceiling. Guests can relax in overstuffed leather chairs as they sip cocktails before moving into the dining room for dinner. This space has creamy walls with white trim, carpeting in shades of rust and green, and plenty of windows to showcase the sweeping golf course vista.

Upstairs, the Terrace is ideal for more intimate events, including small ceremonies. For parties or receptions, they can set up a dance floor and portable bar. And since the Terrace is enclosed on three sides and covered, your guests can revel in the fabulous outdoors (and fabulous views) while keeping their cool on hot days; a built-in fireplace adds warmth when the sun goes down.

Just outside the clubhouse, a great swath of lawn serves as the main ceremony site. Exchange vows in a white gazebo, with the golf course as a beautiful backdrop.

Though Eagle Ridge is visually stunning, one of its most valuable assets is the professionalism and service provided by the Banquet Center’s expert planning staff. Wedgewood offers the same trademark on-site coordination that has distinguished the company for decades. Five lavish wedding packages include invitations, flowers, cake and music, as well as the DJ, minister and menu—all of which are carefully sampled, screened and priced to ensure top quality, affordability and maximum satisfaction. Menu options are varied and generous, with room for customization.

EVENT/RECEPTION & MEETING CAPACITY: The banquet room accommodates 275 seated and 375 standing.

Fees & Deposits

25% of the estimated event total is required to reserve your date. The next 25% is due 120 days prior to the event, and the balance is due 10 days prior, along with the final guest count. Wedding packages start at $40/person and include rental fee, bartenders, outside ceremony setup and cleanup. Tax, alcohol and a 21–22% service charge are additional. Customized packages are also available.
