Why We Like This Place
Fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies offer a warm welcome when you check in at the DoubleTree by Hilton Sacramento, but it’s the friendly staff and newly renovated ballrooms that truly make this venue an excellent choice for a destination wedding or special event.
The hotel can accommodate almost any size group or function: Each of its three ballrooms—which were beautifully upgraded in 2012—has a unique style, as well as its own entrance, foyer and convenient parking for easy access.
If you’re planning an outdoor wedding ceremony, the Capital Patio is an ideal spot. Adjoining the Capital Ballroom, it’s bordered by a gentle creek and overlooks a lush garden and rolling lawn. The bride makes her grand entrance through the garden and across a quaint footbridge that spans the creek. A petal-strewn aisle leads to the patio, and a wooden arbor where vows are exchanged in the shade of sheltering trees. Both the bridge and arbor can be decorated with flowers, fabric or garlands coordinated with your color scheme to give it a personal touch. In the evening, twinkle lights add a magical quality to the setting.
A favorite option for intimate receptions or rehearsal dinners is the tented Event Pavilion and patio. In spring and summer the pavilion is normally left open-sided, but even during cooler weather when its “walls” are drawn down, you still feel warm, comfortable and connected to the surrounding greenery through clear acrylic windows. Couples hosting their reception in the pavilion can tie the knot just a few steps away beneath a delicate wrought-iron gazebo.
Seasoned event professionals will help orchestrate your celebration, from offering vendor recommendations to day-of coordination. Several wedding packages as well as customized menus are available. Certain ethnic cuisines, including Indian and Middle Eastern, may be prepared and brought in by a licensed caterer.
The hotel has 448 oversized guest rooms with balconies, which means all your friends and family can stay in one place. And whether they’re lounging by the hotel pool, shopping in the nearby mall or taking in the historic attractions of Old Sacramento, your guests will enjoy their free time almost as much as attending your wedding.
