Valley Springs Wedding Venue
5059 Carol Lane
Valley Springs, California 95252
Nestled in the tawny Central Valley foothills on 272 acres, Dodasa Ranch is naturally warm and welcoming with an all-American country feel. Yet, along with this abundance of rustic charm you’ll notice some sophisticated touches—a winning combination that makes this venue positively magazine-worthy.
You reach the ranch via a private road that winds through a picturesque oak-studded landscape, but the true “aha” moment comes when you pull into the ample parking area: Cozy wooden cabins, two of which are reserved for the wedding party, signal this location’s relaxed appeal.
Just beyond the cabins is a lodge-style, wood-hewn event pavilion, bordered by colorful beds of roses and native California plants and surrounded by an expansive lawn. Many brides like to stage the ceremony and cocktails in the glorious outdoors followed by dinner and dancing in the pavilion, but there are numerous ways to orchestrate the festivities here.
Another option is to tie the knot in front of the pavilion’s massive stone fireplace, serve cocktails and hors d’oeuvres inside, and then enjoy a fantastic rotisserie BBQ dinner under the stars. Whatever ideas you come up with, the property’s owners take great pleasure in helping you personalize your celebration.
Props are plentiful and photo ops abound. Picture wedding gifts dropped off in the back of an antique truck…the groomsmen arranged around a fabulous old fire engine…the bride riding in on horseback or the newlyweds cuddling in a horse-drawn carriage. Flower carts, farmhouse tables and weathered fences fretted with fragrant star jasmine all contribute to this setting’s uncomplicated beauty. Simple details like centerpieces of buckets filled with roses, pie served in jam jars and scrumptious BBQ dished up on white china create a refreshing, down-home elegance.
At Dodasa, there’s never any need to rush so you can take your time having fun. It’s just a short drive to Stockton, Sonora, Sacramento and the historic town of Jackson if you want to explore the region. However, there’s plenty to do on the property itself: Four miles of horseback-riding trails; a pond stocked with bluegill and black bass; lawn games; movie nights; kayaking; pedal boats; zip-lining; rock climbing; a petting zoo complete with miniature donkeys, sheep, emus, and goats—heck, even a mechanical bull. All these activities make this a place to roost for a while, whether you’re here for a wedding, a father/son or mother/daughter weekend, a corporate seminar, team building, or their summer camp for kids. And, of course, the well-equipped cabins provide a comfy home away from home.
Come Friday afternoon and stay until Sunday noon. You’ll find that whatever the occasion, it’s going to be more than an event at Dodasa Ranch…it’s going to be an amazing experience.
