Why We Like This Place

What do the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and President Clinton’s security dogs have in common? They’ve all been guests at the Crowne Plaza Cabaña! Originally owned by movie star Doris Day, the Cabaña Hotel opened its doors in 1962 and immediately became a magnet for Hollywood luminaries. Described by Life Magazine as “one of the best hotels on the West Coast,” it’s now “the Cabaña reinvented,” thanks to a 21st-century makeover that completely updated the décor, event spaces and guest rooms. However, the venue still retains the breezy, relaxed elegance and innovative design elements that made it a California classic.

With the largest event capacity on the Peninsula, the Crowne Plaza Cabaña offers numerous choices for functions, especially weddings and other fabulous fêtes. In the expansive Grand Mediterranean Ballroom, two-toned gold walls painted in a subtle swirling pattern complement the carpet. Overhead, eye-catching half-dome light fixtures made from tortoise shell and opaque glass panels are set into the high, coffered ceiling. Just outside, a spacious and sunny courtyard is perfect for a smaller ceremony or reception. It can be used alone, or as a prefunction area in conjunction with the ballroom. Other first-floor facilities include the intimate Bacchus Room, with a fireplace, new fixtures and plantation-shuttered windows.

On the second floor you’ll find the sophisticated Cyprus Room, the hotel’s most sought-after venue. With its unique oval shape, wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows and elegant touches, this room’s charms are hard to resist. During the day, natural light streams in through the windows, which provide ample views of the trees, courtyard and sparkling swimming pool below. At night, lights may be dimmed for a soft, romantic ambiance.

The Cyprus Room opens to the Sun Deck, which accommodates overflow reception seating and also works well for a wedding ceremony or social hour. Six Cabaña Suites next to the deck provide even more options: For example, you might reserve one for the bride’s changing room and another for a hospitality room. One of the suites connects to both the Cyprus Room and the Sun Deck, creating a wonderful indoor-outdoor flow.

A host of smaller rooms are available, too, so you should be able to find a space that perfectly suits your occasion. In addition, the staff is extremely flexible and will work with you to deliver the event you envision. The Crowne Plaza Cabaña has always impressed its guests, and it continues to do so with inspired service, modern amenities and comfortable accommodations.

Fees & Deposits

25% of the estimated event total is due at contract signing. The balance is payable 30 days prior to the event. Ceremony fees start at $1,000. Wedding packages start at $40/person. Tax, alcohol and a 20% service charge are additional. Room rental fees may apply if certain minimums are not met.
