If you’re a lover of ocean liners, cruise ships, yachts, and all the grandeur and pampering they imply, why not charter one of Commodore Cruises’ six luxury yachts for your milestone event? Boarding from their home port in Alameda, Pier 40 and 19 other ports in the San Francisco Bay area, their fleet has maintained the fine tradition of white glove entertaining at sea for over 30 years.

The Cabernet Sauvignon is the Grande Dame of San Francisco Bay. It possesses four enormous decks: a spacious lounge deck, a dining deck for sit-down dinners or buffets, a large dance-floor deck equipped with an excellent sound system and magnificent bar, and an open-air sky deck that’s perfect for viewing the city skyline. A private stateroom provides a changing space for brides and bridesmaids.

Commodore’s trio of Mega Yachts is extremely versatile. The Pinot Noir, with its long white bar and mirrored ceilings resembles a chic set straight out of a James Bond movie. Its equally stunning sister yacht, the Chardonnay, boasts a large dance floor on the second deck. Couples who desire an intimate outdoor ceremony might want to consider the Merlot. Popular because it serves groups large and small, it has a dance floor on the second deck that spills out onto the open-air deck, creating a wonderful indoor/outdoor flow.

The Fumé Blanc, a three-deck replica of a New York State steamship, features a 30-foot dance floor, roomy viewing platforms on the bow, and a 340-guest capacity. And lastly, the Zinfandel treats guests to fabulous 360-degree views from a dining deck with floor-to-ceiling windows.

All vessels offer well-appointed settings for dining, gorgeous wraparound views of the bay, and multiple menu options for a wide variety of social and corporate functions. Plus Commodore Cruises & Events works with a selection of highly rated vendors to help you create the wedding or special event of your dreams. CEREMONY, EVENT/RECEPTION & MEETING CAPACITY: Maximum capacity is 340 guests aboard the Fumé Blanc and 350 aboard the Cabernet Sauvignon. Many events are hosted with 20–130 guests aboard smaller yachts.

Fees & Deposits

A nonrefundable deposit of 25% of the estimated event total is required to reserve your date. Another 25% is due 120 days prior to the event. The balance is due 14 days prior to the event. Fees, including meals, a full bar and 3–4 hours aboard, range $65–200/person. The yachts are also available à la carte.
