The Alcosta Senior and Community Center not only has something for everyone, it offers a number of wonderful features you don’t always find in a community center.
We love the fact that this venue has both indoor and outdoor event spaces, and comes with a fully equipped commercial kitchen. The center’s banquet facility, the upscale Vista Grande Room, is well suited for wedding receptions, large meetings and other special events. The walls are painted a pleasant dusky peach, and the light oak floor is great for dancing. A high vaulted ceiling and windows with views of rolling hills add to its charm.
Sophisticated lighting and sound systems let you create the mood and music you want: Use lighting to highlight an area in a festive or sultry way; plug in your iPod (or any audio device) to listen to your own playlist.
Multiple doors open to an adjoining terrace, which extends your seating—and your celebration—outside. Shaded by a vine-covered arbor, the terrace is a lovely spot for dining, socializing and simply enjoying the fresh air and view of the hills. When the weather is warm, leave the Vista Grande Room doors open so that guests can flow easily between the two spaces.
Ceremonies here are held in the Gazebo, a Victorian-style confection with a white picket railing and peaked shake roof. Standing in the middle of a park-like setting, it’s encircled by flowering trees and overlooks a broad lawn where family and friends are seated.
Throughout your event, the “park” provides a relaxing place for guests to stroll along brick paths, have a quiet conversation under a tree and even play bocce ball. As you sit on a bench soaking up the sun, you can’t help but appreciate the unexpected beauty and serenity of this private little haven.
We think the Alcosta Senior and Community Center is a real find, and for those on a budget, very easy on the pocketbook.
CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Vista Grande Room seats 115 banquet-style or 200 seated theater-style.
EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The facility can accommodate up to 115 seated banquet-style.
MEETING CAPACITY: Several spaces accommodate 20–200 seated guests.
A $50–200 security deposit is due when you book the facility (depending on spaces rented). The rental fee ranges $45–165/hour on weekends (6pm Friday to 6pm Sunday) and $20–90/hour weekdays (6pm Sunday to 6pm Friday) and is due 90 days prior to the event. If the booking occurs less than 90 days prior to the event, the rental fee is due at the time of the booking along with the security deposit. San Ramon residents receive a discounted rate. The Vista Grande Room can be partitioned in half, and may be rented as a half space. There is an additional fee for use of the kitchen.
