Questions and Answers
What 3 words describe your work? Fresh, engaging, and dynamic.
Why should someone hire you? My weddings are consistently well received. I use warmth and humor to connect with everyone. At the same time, I use my professional training to perform a seamless wedding experience. I am very intuitive and perceptive, so I work to discern how to create a wedding that presents the true couple.
What are the common misconceptions about your services? Because I am an ordained minister, some may expect me to appear solemn and heavy-hearted. In fact, I thrive on the joy of the occasion, which makes my presentation style dynamic and heartfelt. I am authentic, which the guests appreciate so they relax and enjoy the ceremony along with the bridal couple.
What drew you to this field/how did you get started? I want to come alongside couples who do not know a minister who will marry them. I seek to become a new friend who will act as their spiritual mentor for this most important moment in their lives. I show couples how God fits naturally into the joy of their wedding and help them shape their ceremony to include the sacred as they feel is appropriate.
What makes a wedding memorable for you? The love of the couple for each other floats my boat. I try to enhance and encourage the couple's deep affection by crafting the ceremony to represent their unique mutual personality. I want them to remember the wedding as a public and glorious manifestation of who they are together.
Tell us about a favorite, unusual or most interesting moment at a wedding: Each wedding ceremony has its own mini-drama, which can never be duplicated. I look for the interlude when their distinct personalities peek past the formalities and a flash of their inner being is revealed. Often that happens during a moment of humor; then the wedding becomes their own.
What do you like best about weddings? Anybody who knows me appreciates that I enjoy good company. Whether I am walking on the beach with my wife or hanging out with my buddies telling jokes, I thrive on community. For me, weddings provide instant communities where I get energized by joining families and friends who dress up and gather to honor the fortunate couple.
