Montclair Baking provides cake tasting, consultation, floral arrangement, delivery and setup. Custom cakes are available in a range of flavors and sizes. In addition, they are known for their dessert buffets of miniature pastries and mignardises, edible place cards and decorated cookie favors.

Their decorations include hand-molded marzipan or chocolate flowers, fruits, vegetables, bows or textile renditions, such as lace. They can include local farm fresh produce such as berries, Royal apricots, Meyer lemons and Suncrest peaches. All components of their cakes are made from scratch at their retail location. A baker/decorator meets with you to discuss specifics and also coordinates with your florist, event site manager and caterer to make your wedding cake delicious and memorable.

Dessert buffets of miniature pastries and mignardises, and edible place cards are also available.

Pastry Chef Cheryl Lew is recognized both locally and nationally for her custom-designed wedding cakes. It is a challenge to combine elegant artistry and sumptuous taste, and she succeeds: Cheryl’s cakes combine beauty and a richness of flavor that is unforgettable.

Owner Cheryl Lew is a self-taught pastry chef who has been recognized locally and nationally by both critics and peers. Montclair Baking was named on of the “101 Reasons the San Francisco Bay Area is a Food Mecca” and the San Francisco Chronicle named them as one of the top ten bakeries in the Bay Area. Bay Food considered Cheryl to be on of the top 5 pastry chefs.

Recently, Cheryl became nationally recognized as the #117 Certified Master Baker. Her cakes have appeared in Elegant Bride, Pastry Arts and Design, The American Cake Decorator and The New York Times. Cheryl’s confections have also garnered two awards in the Domaine Carneros Ultimate Wedding Cake Competition. She teaches at local cooking schools: Dreagers, Andronico’s and Ramekins.
