Katharina holds a degree in floral design from the Swiss Florist Society, is a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, and is a California Certified Florist. She placed first in the California State Floral Association’s Top Ten Design competition in 2005, and placed top five in the Sylvia Cup for both 2006 and 2007.

(What does this mean?)
These Reviews are from real brides who have used this vendor's services—pulled straight from their Certified by The Guide reference check. We only post reviews that we have collected, so we can feel confident that they are the real deal. Yes, we know. We're control freaks.

“I was blown away by the beauty and creativity in every bouquet and arrangement that she did for us. She took our ideas and ran with them, and they were exceptional.”

“Kat has an incredible awareness of color, shape, and texture that she uses to create visually interesting and beautiful designs. Kat’s designs are unique, sophisticated, and gorgeous.”

“I truly found her designs to stand out in elegance and sophistication. She uses a beautiful mix of different materials, from flowers to fruits and leaves. She is super creative and open, while giving enough structure to be very useful.”

“Kat was very easy to talk to and offered excellent expert advice. She was completely honest about what she could and could not do regarding our budget and seasonal constraints.”

Kat is an artist. She took the time to understand the atmosphere we were attempting to capture at our wedding and used her floral design to set the mood for a perfectly magical day and evening that our guests could not stop talking about!”

Questions and Answers

What 3 words describe your work? Unexpected, natural, clean.

What are some of sources of inspiration or influences on your work? I am inspired by nature and its bounty of uncountable materials, colors and textures.

Tell us about a favorite, unusual or most interesting moment at a wedding: My favorite moment is the look on the bride's face when she sees her bouquet for the first time.

What have weddings have taught you? Weddings have taught me to be flexible. There is always something that needs some adjustment or other, last minute changes, etc. and I'll do whatever it takes to make it happen.

What is the best advice you give to a couple when planning their wedding? Be open to advice from your vendors. They are the professionals and they're there to help and guide you.

Extracurricular activities: I love hiking in the East Bay Hills and I love my garden.

If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead? Maybe I would get into landscaping… just another way of playing with flowers and plants.

What's your favorite way to wind down after a hard day? Relaxing in the bathtub with a good book and glass of wine.

Tell us about your pets, if you have any. Oscar, my big fat black cat, loves to hang out in my studio when I work. His favorite spot is the middle of the worktable—so if you find some cat hair in your flowers, they're Oscar's.
