Services

Jade Turgel is a storyteller by trade. A writer of children’s books and scripts for short films, she uses her storytelling sensibility to create visually captivating, photojournalistic wedding imagery. She has a keen sense for capturing candid moments, a strong artistic eye, and an “eclectic view of life” which manifests itself in her creative photography. Jade is a great talent and produces the highest quality of work, but she is also very down to earth and easy to talk to. She says, “I will never ‘should’ you, I will never judge you. I will go with whatever your flow, your vision, your desire is.” She will listen to your personal vision for your wedding photography, add in her own expert ideas, and deliver a beautiful and detail-oriented documentation of your day.

Packages start at $2600. Customizable packages, a la carte services, and hourly rates are available. Jade will post your images to a private online gallery for ordering and also offers custom albums.

Questions and Answers

What 3 words best describe your work? Story-oriented, colorful, intimate.

Why should someone hire you? I am punctual, I care about each client, and because I am creative, easy to work with, very flexible and supportive.

What drew you to this field/how did you get started? I am a storyteller by trade. I used to work in the film industry. I have written 2 children's books. I look at life through light and images, and photography has been my passion since high school. It became a career when I got married and had a family.

What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work? Fashion. Art. People. I love human beings and their different faces and smiles.

What makes a wedding memorable for you? The genuine love between bride and groom—you can feel it.

What have weddings taught you? To notice the tiny details that make each one unique.

What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding? Pick vendors based on skill and rapport, not price. It pays in the long run. And always hand off all the duties on your wedding day to someone else.

What are 3 words that describe your personality? Friendly. Approachable. Invested.

Extracurricular activities: Dance. Travel. Write.

If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead? Journalist and filmmaker.

What's your favorite way to wind down after a hard day? A hot bath, watch a good film, and snuggle with my husband.

Tell us about your pets, if you have any. A cat named Sunshine.
