Questions and Answers
What 3 words describe your work? Professional. Creative. Fun!
Why should someone hire you? I really take the time to help visions become reality. I have many years of event planning to draw from, which naturally leads to worry-free installations and spectacular results. Flexibility is also an important part of my business. Last minute changes are simply unavoidable in the event industry, and being prepared always keeps the wheels turning smoothly.
What are the common misconceptions about your services? That nice lighting is prohibitively expensive. I am a smaller company that undertakes a limited number of events per year, leading not only to more personalized service, but a lower overall cost.
What drew you to this field/how did you get started? I started as a touring musician, and developed an interest in lighting while playing on different stages throughout the world.
What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work? My favorites are the natural, organic textures one can achieve through lighting. Soft ambers and branchy pattern washes look amazing in an outdoor setting, or when trying to bring the outdoors in. Early evening sunbeams on natural wood is a favorite look of mine that I often try to re-create.
What is the best advice you give to a couple when planning their wedding? Don't sweat the small stuff. Hire detail-oriented vendors and have fun with the process.
What are 3 words that describe your personality? Easygoing. Hardworking. Happy.
What's your favorite marriage advice? Be friends first.
What's your favorite way to wind down after a hard day? Playing a little slack-key guitar while sipping a tropical drink at my backyard tiki bar here in the wine country.
What are some of your favorite places to eat—either everyday spots or special occasion splurges? Farm, in the Carneros Region of Napa, is one of our favorite year-round spots to relax. It's filled with comfy couches, has a nice big lawn, and the wine and appetizers are sensational.
