Questions and Answers

What 3 words describe your work?

Authentic. Playful. Modern.

Tell us about your company name.

It's named after me, of course!

Why should someone hire you?

By bringing my editorial and commercial experience to wedding photography, I'm able to apply a stylist's eye to details and emotions without intruding on the authenticity and intimacy of the day. Ultimately, I strive to tell beautiful, compelling stories through my pictures, and I have so much fun in the process! And, we'll have a great time together, I'm sure of it.

What drew you to this field/how did you get started?

My path to photography probably started before I was even born. My grandparents met when my grandfather was dropping off film at the local drugstore’s camera department where my grandmother worked. (They just celebrated 55 years of marriage!). My grandfather’s enthusiasm for photography must have rubbed off, because I’ve been creating images for as long as I can remember, setting up photo shoots with our dog, Bear, and taking shots with a hot pink 110mm camera. After one year at a community college in Southern California, I decided to move to San Francisco, live my dream and study advertising photography at The Academy of Art University.

What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work?

I'm influenced greatly by organic, real life stories, real people and raw beauty. The simplest moments, like morning coffee in a beautiful handcrafted mug while the sun rises, are moments that make me just slow down and realize that these are the moments I should cherish...the everyday happenings and simplest things excite me. I'm an avid people watcher and often times catch myself giggling to myself when I see something sweet and magical.

What makes a wedding memorable for you?

The most memorable are the ones where the bride and groom's personalities are so vivid throughout the whole day. To be able to witness that, time and time again, is really special.

What have weddings taught you?

That love, family and friends are paramount.

What is the best advice you give to a couple when planning their wedding?

Hire vendors you trust and love; you won't regret it. Just know that in the end, everything always works itself out. Don't sweat the small stuff and focus on the game plan (the marriage itself).

What are 3 words that describe your personality?

Thoughtful, adventurous, honest.

Extracurricular activities:

Estate sales and thrift store shopping, music festivals and road trips with my husband.
