Questions and Answers

What 3 words describe your work? Detailed. Creative. Timeless. Elegant. And that is 4…

Tell us about your company name. I recently switched my company name from Special Memories to Abel Soria Photography. Let's be more personal!

Why should someone hire you? As silly as it may sound, I feel passionate about your wedding…I do!! I've been shooting weddings professionally since 1992, and can honestly say that the most important thing is the connection that my customers and I develop. This relationship is the key to capturing all images beyond my customer expectations. My services are not limited to showing up on your wedding day and taking pictures, but to manage all type of situations that may unexpectedly arise, such as being able to relax a nervous bride or groom. My years of experience are your peace of mind, and I DO CARE about your wedding.

How would you describe your shooting style? My style is a combination of journalistic, documentary and traditional put together in a creative way. Whether digital or film, I always strive to provide the most beautiful colors and stunning creative effects like black & white, sepia, aged, or some color with black & white combinations.

What drew you to this field/how did you get started? I got my first camera when I was 8 years old from my father, who was a photographer too. I used to do lots of landscapes, but over the years developed a passion for people and their expressions. It's really exciting to capture smiles, laughs, tears of happiness, and love as the highest human expression. They are all uniquely found in that one special day.

What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work? Listening to my clients and their stories is probably one of my best sources of inspiration. This is also necessary to excel in performance. Developing a relationship helps them feel relaxed and be themselves in front of the camera, which is the secret to the natural look of my images.

Tell us about a favorite, unusual or most interesting moment at a wedding: My favorite is the "first look", either at the altar or when they both see each other before the ceremony. My heartbeat always goes super fast and strong at this moment, and I feel that I multiply myself to get all angles.

What are 3 words that describe your personality? Cheerful. Curious. Goofy. Patient…4 again...LOL.

Extracurricular activities: Biking, reading, enjoying family and friends, attending church.

If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead? If I wasn't a wedding photographer, I would want to be a Wedding Photographer!
