What are the common misconceptions about your services?

That wedding planning services are an unnecessary luxury or add-on item—while in fact they are the backbone and foundation of a flawless and worry-free event.

What drew you to this field/how did you get started?

My background in art history and design and the wedding I planned, designed and coordinated for my children—I was immediately hooked!

What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work?

Art, design, music and nature.

Tell us about a favorite, unusual or very interesting moment at a wedding:

When the father of the bride who was elderly and nearly immobile, got up for the father-daughter dance and his emotion carried him to dance with his daughter as if he were a young man again. It was a magical moment. We were all crying.

What makes a wedding memorable for you?

Every wedding is memorable for me! Most importantly, it's the intensely personal touches and the little priceless moments…

What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?

Accept professional help so you can enjoy the time of your courtship and look forward to your great day, without stress!

If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?

To make every single wedding the beginning of a lasting and happy marriage!

Warm, enthusiastic, and hardworking.

What's your favorite marriage advice?

Never take each other for granted; keep that sense of wonder and gratitude for having one another, and be forgiving.

Extracurricular activities:

Family time, our dog, cooking, baking, classical music, reading—and designing weddings!!! (That's something I love and that I don't consider "work.")

If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead?

I would still be a physician as I was in my native country. I loved my profession—being able to help people.

What's your favorite way to wind down after a hard day?

Family time, cuddling our dog, and relaxing with a glass of wine.

Tell us about your pets, if you have any.

Yes! We have an Australian Shepherd, Buzz, who has shared our lives for more than a decade, who has made us smile every single day (more than any human being) and whom we love like a child. Because of him, I specialize in dog-friendly weddings—and I am the only wedding coordinator in all of Northern California offering this service.

What are some of your favorite places to eat—either everyday spots or special occasion splurges?

Restaurant Gary Danko and Acquerello, both in SF.
