Why We Like This Place

Just two blocks from Carmel’s beaches, La Playa remains one of the loveliest and most inviting places we’ve had the pleasure to write about. The entire setting is lush and private, with brick patios, a fountain, manicured lawns and climbing bougainvillea.

Accommodations include tasteful rooms and suites, most with garden or ocean views. Honeymooners prefer to reserve one of the 5 charming and unique cottages, with their more private garden milieu even closer to the beach. (Sunset strolls recommended.)

The hotel is a refreshing destination, where classic furnishings, French doors and magnificent views are standard amenities. We can’t help but love this place. And if you have your honeymoon here, we’re sure you will, too.

Romance Packages include champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries, full breakfast for two, and 1 night stay in ocean or garden-view room. The Romantic Wine Escape Package includes champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries, dinner for two, two nights stay in ocean or garden-view room and a 4-hour winery tour in a limousine.

Honeymoon Package Rates

Romance Package starts at $295 per night, Sunday–Thursday, including all taxes and gratuities. Romantic Wine Escape Package is $1100 including all taxes and gratuities. Additional nights are $200 plus tax.

Room rates range $190–575/night depending on room, suite or cottage rented.
