We'd love it if you would mention that you found Tami & Ryan Photography on the Here Comes The Guide website.
Southern New Jersey / Philadelphia region. Will travel!
Tami tells us, “Since the summer of 2008, we have captured over 175 weddings together. Within this time, we’ve developed a system, like most couples do in life, when we know exactly what the other one is thinking, we know precisely what shots each other is getting and we never have to worry – we’ve got one another’s backs! Honestly, we couldn’t imagine not being a husband and wife team! There is no one else we’d rather capture a wedding with! Who better to work with than the one person that knows you better than you know yourself?”
All wedding collections include at least 7 hours of coverage, 2 photographers, an online gallery of images and a USB of wedding day images with a print release. Additional collections include an engagement session, a beautiful heirloom wedding album, and more!
Questions and Answers
Answers by Tami
What 3 words best describe your work?
Fun. Romantic. Fresh.
Why should someone hire you?
The connection between us (as your photographers) and you (as our bride and groom) is something that we look forward to! I like to have time to get to know each of my brides and grooms and build a relationship that is more than just a wedding vendor, but more like a friend! This way, I am able to get the most natural, comfortable pictures I can capture of them both! I love getting to know my couples, their personalities, and providing each of them with a wonderful experience on their most special day! I strive to capture YOU—not a stiff-posed, uncomfortable you—but a relaxed, comfortable, glowing, happy, excited, nervous, fabulous YOU!
What drew you to this field/how did you get started?
When I realized I wanted to be a wedding photographer, I was attending college as a Human Resources major. I was asked to be a bridesmaid in my childhood best friend's wedding, took note of what her photographer was doing and realized that it would be an absolute dream to be able to capture someone's happiest day as my career! I was always that girl growing up that had a camera attached to her, taking photos of anything, everything and everyone, but never actually thought I could make a career out of something I loved! As I started my business, I graduated with my Bachelors degree in Human Resources and I think that earning this degree helped make my business what it is today. I started out photographing whoever I could, and worked as an intern for a local photographer before taking the leap and opening my own business. From there, with the help of my husband pushing me along and believing in me every step of the way, we've grown leaps and bounds! I never thought my dreams could come true, and now they have ten-fold!! I want nothing more than to continue growing and learning, but mostly just to be able to capture the best love stories possible, week after week, for some of the most adoring couples I've ever met!
What makes a wedding memorable for you?
Well, I am pretty much a hopeless romantic…so at the mention of a wedding I get all giddy and excited! I love when the bride and groom see one another for the first time for sure, but one of my favorite moments is their first dance as husband and wife—after all the pressure is off, and they've already said their I do's, I just love capturing the love shining from them! I have to admit, that yes, I will probably cry at least once during every wedding I capture—thank goodness for auto focus!
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
Take your time. Make your decisions based on your heart and what feels right. Make the BEST decisions for you both and don't let anyone take this day away from you and the love that you are celebrating!
If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?
Mind reading so I'm always one step ahead of what everyone is going to do!! That would be awesome!
What's your favorite quote?
"Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale." —Anonymous
Tell us about your pets, if you have any.
I have two fur-babies Bella + Cooper! They are my loves and my children (until I have actual children in the future!). Bella is a Chihuahua/Cattle Dog mix and Cooper is a Border Collie/Terrier mix!
