Among the trees and manicured lawns of a 17-acre park owned by the City of Healdsburg you’ll find Villa Chanticleer, a charming venue that will put you in mind of a gentler, more graceful time.

Built in 1910 as a country resort, the Villa has a rich history of hosting weddings, receptions, parties and community events. Guests appreciate not only the peace and beauty of the lovely surroundings, but the facility’s thoughtful amenities as well—both the Villa and Annex have been outfitted with a state-of-of-the-art audiovisual system to enhance your event.

When you arrive on the Villa grounds, take a moment to enjoy the large trees, mature landscape, fresh air and birdsong. As you cross the stone steps to enter the Villa Main Building, notice the wide veranda shaded by a handsome, wisteria-draped arbor. Inside, you’re welcomed by an open, gracious lobby. The bar area directly ahead is conveniently U-shaped and surrounded by eight large booths, perfect for a cocktail hour or small family affair.

The doors to your right lead to the Dining Room; those on your left open to the Ballroom. Each 3,000-square-foot room features redwood paneling, light-toned hardwood floors and bucolic views. In the Dining Room, generous picture windows frame panoramic vistas of the Alexander Valley below and Geyser Peak in the distance. From the Ballroom, you can see the veranda, the lawn, and the hillside covered in oaks, maples and bay laurel trees. A centrally located, modern commercial kitchen is easily accessible from both spaces, adding to their versatility.

A short walk from the villa is the casual yet elegant Wedding Garden. Wrought-iron gates invite you into the two-level secluded lawn bordered by terraced flowerbeds and redwood trees. A quaint gazebo may serve as either a backdrop or the focal point for your ceremony.

The Annex and the Picnic/Barbecue area are excellent for casual events such as family reunions, baby showers, company picnics and rehearsal dinners.

This multifaceted facility provides a memorable setting for large or intimate gatherings, and the price is quite attractive. No wonder Villa Chanticleer has been a favorite of wedding couples and their guests for generations.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Ballroom and Dining Room each accommodate 300 seated guests; the Wedding Garden holds up to 250 guests; and the Annex holds 150 seated.

EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The Dining Room and Ballroom each hold 300 seated banquet-style, 250 seated at 60-inch round tables, or 300 standing guests. The Annex (which is a smaller building located next to the Main Villa) accommodates 150 seated guests or 200 for a standing reception. Outdoor picnic facilities hold 200 people and the bar area up to 100 guests.

MEETING CAPACITY: For corporate functions, the entire building holds up to 600 seated guests.

Fees & Deposits

The Villa’s 12-hour rental fee ranges $795–4,995 depending on day of the event. Fees for the Wedding Garden range $875–1,200 depending on day of the week. The rental fee for the Villa Annex is approximately half that of the Villa. An hourly rate is also available for both buildings; call for details. Rental fees are due when reservations are confirmed. A security/damage deposit is required:$1,000 for the Wedding Garden, or the Villa and $600 for the Annex. These are due 60 days prior to your event and will be refunded 6–8 weeks after the event. There is a rental fee for use of the picnic area; a $200 security/damage deposit is required.
