Cinnabar Hills Golf Course was named in honor of the rich, red ore that was mined in the area during the 1800s. Plan your wedding at this facility, and your day will be "rosy" indeed.

Though the club is located just 25 miles from downtown San Jose, your visit there will take you through charming, pastoral countryside. Farmhouses dot the landscape, giving way to uninterrupted views of gently rolling hills and azure skies. Just about the time your psyche starts to unclench from the stresses of the city, you’ll encounter Cinnabar Hills nestled in the tranquil foothills. This site, a favorite among South Bay locals, boasts a 27-hole championship-caliber golf course crowned with a clubhouse that’s custom-made for weddings and special events..

Built in 1998, the low-slung building is Silicon Valley-sophisticated, yet comfortable and utterly lacking in stuffiness. A bright foyer with gold-toned walls and slate floors opens onto a long hallway with high windows on either side that let in plenty of sunshine and views of the golf course and hills beyond. Straight down the hallway is one of the club’s most celebrated features: the Brandenburg Historical Golf Museum. In this large, light wood-paneled room, Cinnabar Hills founder Lee Brandenburg has amassed a truly remarkable collection of golfing trophies and memorabilia celebrating such notables as Johnny Miller, Bing Crosby, General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Sam Snead and many others. Set up your pre-reception cocktails and appetizers in this space, and you can keep even your non-golf-playing guests intrigued and engaged while you’re off getting your post-ceremony pictures taken..

To the right of the museum is the club’s Main Dining Room. Designed to capture the breathtaking views of the sprawling golf course and the surrounding Santa Clara Valley, it features three walls of oak-trimmed glass, and is topped with two large glass skylights. Whether you opt for a buffet-style meal or more formal seating, your guests will be enraptured by the panoramic unspoiled vistas on all sides. More light-oak paneling accents the large bar near the entrance of the room, and covers the expansive dance-floor. Double glass doors at the far end of the room lead to a sunny patio, bordered by a wooden arbor that blooms with white roses in the spring and summer months. At night, landscape and track lighting illuminate the patio, and guests are drawn out here to take in the starlit skies and night air..

If you want to have both your wedding and reception at Cinnabar (and nearly 80 percent of couples planning their event at the Club do just that), the Dining Room patio also makes a lovely ceremony site. After saying your vows here, pose for pictures in front of the surrounding gardens: they’re awash in fuschia, purple and pale-pink flowers practically year-round, and the manicured fairways just beyond provide a spectacular backdrop..

Fees & Deposits

A $2,000 deposit is required to reserve your date. 50% of the minimum expenditure is due 6 months prior to the event; the balance is due 5 days before the event. The ceremony fee is $1,275 and the room rental fee is $1,995. Meals range $40–48/person. Tax, and a 20% service charge are additional.
