If you want your wedding or special event to take center stage, then definitely consider the Center Club. Talk about centrally located! This prestigious member of the ClubCorp family is located in the center of Orange County, in the center of South Coast Metro at the base of the award-winning Center Tower adjacent to the glamorous Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Occupying the garden level of a performing arts complex, the swank business club has been an in-demand event site for more than 30 years, and it’s now going to attract even more fans thanks to its brand new look.
A recent $3.1 million renovation has taken the Center Club from elegantly traditional to magnificently contemporary. Grand social and professional affairs will be right at home here, in a place that’s chic, sophisticated and ultra-upscale.
From the moment you step into the pleasingly posh lobby, you’ll be swept away by an arts-inspired setting. Waltz down the lustrous, handsomely appointed hall—there’s a musical score subtly worked into its walls—toward the Symphony Ballroom. No ordinary rectangular box, this stunning space has an architectural splendor that allows for intimacy without sacrificing scale. That “far corner of the room” syndrome does not exist here. Three adjoining chambers create the ballroom’s dynamic arrowhead shape, and when they’re all used together they offer sightlines from the central “prow” that make the whole room visible and enticingly accessible in spite of its lavish dimensions. In addition, the three chambers can function independently as the Mozart, Chopin and Beethoven Rooms—each totally alluring in its own right.
The Chopin Room, for example, has a spacious outdoor terrace that’s perfect for ceremonies or cocktails. It features sculptural details like the “green wall” planted with ferns, the Four Lines Oblique Gyratory-Square IV structure by George Rickey, and towering eucalyptus trees for a look that’s sleek and streamlined, yet serene. The Mozart and Beethoven Rooms, like the Chopin, have floor-to-ceiling windows, although these look out onto a palatial water garden (designed by leading Modernist movement landscape architect, Peter Walker) that radiates tranquility and a grand museum feel. All three rooms are decorated in tasteful shades of pewter, bronze and dove-gray that allow their beautiful bones—high ceilings, crown moldings and impressive soffits—to shine. Nothing has been overlooked—even the furnishings are works of art, sculpted and finished to echo and enhance a design perspective that bespeaks luxury and taste.
Of course, as you’d expect from a world-class event venue like this one, a variety of other options is also available for your partying pleasure: The traditional Zen, and high-tech Earth, Wind, and Fire rooms provide private boardroom and dining opportunities. If more space is required, the sumptuous Encore Lounge with its clubby leather and hardwood accents; the VIP Lounge; and a spectacular Founders Room further expand your choices. Top it off with Center Club’s impeccable service, culinary expertise and unparalleled farm-to-table cuisine, and you’ll have a recipe for smashing success.
