Why We Like This Place

Skiing, hiking or relaxing in a hot tub with a glass of California wine—you can do any or all of these things when you spend your honeymoon at the Black Bear Inn in South Lake Tahoe. The innkeepers have maintained the integrity of the mountain setting by seamlessly incorporating rustic elements of the surrounding landscape with luxurious modern amenities. The main lodge has five generously sized guestrooms with king-sized beds and private fireplaces, but we’re guessing you’ll want to reserve one of the three romantic cabins, each with its own private patio and access to the hot tub gazebo under the pine trees. The inn is conveniently located near topnotch ski destinations, water sports, and hiking trails. However, a case could be made for cozying up in front of a fire with a good book or your sweetie, taking an outdoor soak and savoring a fine meal at the inn’s restaurant. The friendly staff will make you feel like you’re home—home with a huge upgrade!
