Why We Like This Place
For red carpet treatment alongside the greens and fairways of a beautiful 18-hole golf course—just minutes from downtown Oakland and the Oakland Airport—book your special event at the Wedgewood Banquet Center at the Metropolitan Golf Links. This great value and year-round course (designed by American Society of Golf Course Architects member, Fred Bliss, and long-time Bay Area resident and World Golf Hall of Famer, Johnny Miller) is a terrific venue for weddings, golf events, corporate or other social functions and holiday parties. It was also awarded sanctuary status by Audubon International. Its spacious feel, plus long views to the Oakland hills, the bay, downtown Oakland and San Francisco lend it an uplifting outlook and unhurried charm.
To better accommodate weddings and special events, this facility has recently invested in an extensive renovation that includes a major banquet room expansion, additional ceremony space alongside the golf course, and attractive landscaping around the new event areas. The sizeable banquet room, with its two windowed walls, now opens onto a matching, 3,000-square-foot tent with amenities such as a built-in bar, state-of-the-art sound system, permanent dance floor, carpeting, and cooling Casablanca fans. Also new is an expansive lawn, complete with gazebo and rose garden, that’s custom-made for ceremonies. Guests reach the banquet center via a breezeway that leads to the patio of the golf course’s Sweet Spot Café. The patio can also be used as additional space for large celebrations, and features uninterrupted views of the course and the bayside surroundings.
Of course, one of the most reassuring aspects of booking an event at this appealing East Bay location is the professionalism and service you’ll experience at the hands of the expert planning staff. Five lavish wedding packages include invitations, flowers, cake, and music, as well as the DJ, minister and menu—all of which are carefully sampled, screened and priced to ensure top quality, affordability and maximum satisfaction. Menu options are varied and generous with room for customization.
Will you choose the cream-white dendrobium orchids and bar grass in tall cylinder vases or the big bowls of floating roses, gerberas or gardenias? The stacked whipped cream cake with fresh flowers or the white-chocolate cake shaped like a gift box with a cascading ribbon? We can’t list all of your options, but we can promise you this: You won’t have to do any legwork, you’ll know just what you’re getting—and you won’t lose track of the cost. Your only worry will be what to do after the party is over.

Fees & Deposits
A 25% deposit is required to reserve your date. The next 25% is due 90 days prior and the balance is due 10 days prior to the event. Meals range $20–30/person. Tax, alcohol and a 20% service charge are additional.
