Tustin Banquet Center

Description

As one of the oldest and best-preserved sections of Orange County, Old Town Tustin has long been known for its restored Victorian mansions, turn-of-the-century homes and historic sites. Now it’s also recognized for one of Orange County’s most distinctive wedding venues—the Tustin Banquet Center.

Don’t let its ordinary name fool you—this is a locale with personality plus. You know you’ve reached it when you come upon a Mediterranean villa, accented by jaunty green-striped awnings, and capped by a sloping red tile roof with a cupola. After walking through an ornate entry gate into a Spanish-style courtyard shaded by towering palm trees, feel the present day slip away as you contemplate architectural detailing from an earlier era.

Inside an octagonal reception area with soaring ceilings, sunlight streams through imported stained-glass windows, highlighting embossed tin ceilings, oak paneling, old-style chandeliers and antique furnishings crafted of rich woods. Balconets lend a homey air, and the whole place has you practically convinced you’ve stepped into a private 19th-century mansion.

In the Library, where small wedding ceremonies are held, lacy curtains cover a wall of French doors, and an antique fireplace and mantel stretch from floor to ceiling. As the room’s name suggests, books line an exposed balcony, reinforcing the notion that you’re celebrating in someone’s home. If you need more space to accommodate friends and family, tie the knot in the Forum, with its Old World atmosphere. In the adjoining Grecian Room, Rubenesque nymphs cavort in leaded glass art imported from Europe. The sunny area is popular for a sweetheart table, as it looks into the Forum on one side and the Bar Room on the other. The latter has an antique saloon ambiance, with etched glass and warm wood walls.

When you host your event at the Tustin Banquet Center the entire facility is yours, and guests are free to wander from room to room, and into a small outdoor courtyard for the duration. With so many spots for visiting, dancing, dining and celebrating, everyone will be able to find places for quiet conversation as well as merrymaking.

Owned by the Azzara family, this comfortable facility features fine fare by Azzara’s Gourmet Catering (and art by matriarch Sheila Azzara). All cuisine is prepared on site, and overseen by former restaurateur Phillip Azzara, winner of a Southern California Restaurant Writers’ Association bronze award. Tuxedoed waiters will serve during your plated or buffet reception, which might feature extravagant carved fruit and vegetable displays.

Couples can choose from among several reception packages, all including bar and table service, a custom wedding cake, table linens and centerpieces, dance floor, security service and free parking. With so much handled for you, you’ll be able to enjoy the party and even look ahead to a future picnic, anniversary or family reunion at this versatile venue.
