Why We Like This Place

Town & Gown, USC’s premier venue, has been producing high-quality events for decades. No matter what type of affair you have in mind, the facilities here will impress you.

As you enter the Ballroom, your eyes are immediately drawn to the vaulting arches spanning the width of this magnificent space. Edged in gold, they create a grand, yet graceful, structure. During the day natural light flows in through French doors, and in the evening ten spectacular Schonbek chandeliers make the room sparkle. Inspired by the chandeliers produced for the coronation of an 18th-century Austrian princess, they’re made of exquisite crystal teardrops that glitter overhead like hundreds of diamonds.

On the Ballroom’s west end, stairs leads up to the Foyer, a more intimate reception area. Resembling an elegant living room, the Foyer features antique furnishings, including grandfather clocks and hutches showcasing USC curios. A fire blazing in the Foyer’s handsome stone hearth enhances the romantic mood.

In contrast to these sophisticated interiors, the ceremony sites are more natural in their appeal. If fresh air and sunshine are essential, then marry on a lawn in one of the campus’ many lush parks. Or consider the Town & Gown Garden Courtyard, set between quaint Colonial-style buildings. A pretty tiled fountain at the Courtyard’s north end is a favorite spot for couples to exchange vows; exotic plantings and mature trees enliven the surroundings. At night, glowing old-fashioned street lamps create a magical effect. While the newlyweds pose for photos, guests can sip champagne in the Courtyard or in the Foyer before slipping into the Ballroom.

The menu offered by Town & Gown is as noteworthy as the facilities, with gourmet dining provided under the guidance of USC’s Executive Chef. The catering staff, who are passionate about their work, will help you design your event and handle all the details. Known for their legendary service, Town & Gown Catering makes every celebration here memorable. The only thing you have to do on your wedding day is arrive!

CEREMONY CAPACITY: Town & Gown accommodates up to 400 seated in the main dining room and 250 seated on the adjacent patio. A variety of open park settings within the campus are available for outdoor ceremonies or receptions for up to 1,000 guests.
EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: Town & Gown accommodates 500 seated guests for luncheons or dinners, and up to 800 for standing receptions. The foyer and outdoor patio offer additional seating.
MEETING CAPACITY: The Davidson Executive Conference Center, located on the USC campus at Jefferson and Figueroa, has 8 meeting rooms that can accommodate between 10 and 500 guests, as well as a dining room which can accommodate up to 100 guests.

Fees & Deposits

A nonrefundable deposit (20% of the event total or minimum food and beverage requirement, whichever is greater) is required at contract signing. Half of the estimated total is due 60 days prior and final payment is due 10 days prior to the event date. There are several wedding packages offering a variety of culinary selections, features and amenities starting at $85/person. Ceremony packages are also available at an additional cost. Tax and service charge are additional.
