Why We Like This Place

Very few churches offer everything you could want in a wedding venue, but St. Luke does. Not only are they blessed with a spacious sanctuary, reception hall and garden, but their prices are very affordable and the view from here is spectacular.

A private drive winds its way up to this hidden gem, and when you reach the top of the hill the panorama that opens before you is breathtaking: You can see the Loch Lomand Marina, San Francisco Bay, the Richmond/San Rafael and Oakland Bay Bridges and Mt. Tamalpais.

The grounds of the three-acre property are also a lovely surprise. Extensively landscaped, they’re dotted with magnolia, dogwood, silk and laurel trees, which provide beauty and shade, as well as perfect photo opportunities. You can’t walk around here without feeling a sense of peace and tranquility.

St. Luke is an all-inclusive wedding destination that welcomes all denominations. Ceremonies take place inside the sanctuary or outdoors on the lawn overlooking the bay. The Sanctuary feels warm, open and airy, thanks to a peaked ceiling, tall stone pillars and light filtering in through the colored-glass windows around the room. Comfortable red velvet cushions add a rich accent to the oak pews. There are numerous elegant banners to choose from to enhance the altar’s curved oak backdrop. Other amenities include a state-of-the-art sound and video system with a pull-down screen, a three-manual Allen Renaissance organ, a Kurtzweil electronic piano and a spinet piano. When lit, a pair of seven-tier brass candelabras cast a soft glow over the proceedings.

Couples who get married in the garden exchange vows beneath a white wooden lattice arch, which is often festooned with flowers or garlands. From late April to late October, the days are warm, the sun is shining and the blue waters of the San Francisco Bay sparkle in the background. If the weather becomes inclement, there’s always the option of moving inside the sanctuary.

Receptions are held in the aptly named Bayview Room, with large picture windows on all sides and marvelous bay vistas. Create a festive atmosphere by decorating the high redwood-beam ceiling with lights, tulle, balloons, etc. An outdoor balcony can be used for a bar area, extra seating or appetizer stations, and it’s another great spot for savoring the view.

Rounding off the list of St. Luke’s assets are a Bridal Room and a Groom’s Room with adjacent restrooms, and plenty of onsite parking. The church’s wedding staff, who will help you with all the details, is committed to giving you the most memorable wedding possible. They love nothing better than sharing their serene setting with you and your guests, and sending you off to begin a wonderful life together.

Fees & Deposits

At St. Luke you can host your entire wedding, just the ceremony or just the reception. The à la carte options allow you to bring in your own vendors; the all-inclusive package uses the services of pre-selected vendors. A deposit ranging $1000–2,000, depending on the type of event, is required to reserve your date. The balance is due 30 days prior to the event.

Prices for the à la carte options are as follows:
For a ceremony only (indoor or outdoor), the rental fee is $3,000 and includes the minister’s service, 3 pre-marital counseling sessions, a wedding coordinator, a musician, a rehearsal, sound system, setup and cleanup. For a reception only, the rental fee for the Bayview Room is $2,500 for 8 hours and includes the setup/use of tables and chairs and an event coordinator. If you have a ceremony and reception combined, the rental fee is $5,000 and includes the items mentioned above.

St. Luke’s All-inclusive Wedding Package costs $13,500, and covers a ceremony and reception for 100 people with onsite staffing, the minister and 3 pre-marital counseling sessions, catering, the cake, florist, photographer and DJ. Call or email St. Luke for more details.
