After an $11 million makeover, the Delfina is definitely not your typical Sheraton. In fact, this new version of a hotel favorite reminds you more of that friend you secretly envy, the cosmopolitan traveler who always seems to know about the hot gallery opening and latest dining craze—a veritable design diva who throws together an eye-catching outfit at a moment’s notice. Like your hip friend, the Delfina is a paragon of cutting-edge style. Perched on a gentle rise, this urban sanctuary commands a spectacular view of bustling Santa Monica and the ocean just a few blocks away. Its double-tall lobby instantly sets a fashion-forward tone: the interiors are a triumph of eclectic artistry, combining textures, shapes and global influences into an intriguing style matrix that nevertheless breathes soothing simplicity. A tasteful mix of exotic wood trim, supple leather furnishings and chrome fixtures are pulled together via Tibetan blue accents. In an inspired example of decorative daring, low-backed chairs clustered around an African print chaise provide imaginative seating; a piece of coral becomes sculpture set atop a cube side table. Ambient music features playful hip-hop one minute, smoky jazz the next, in a nouveau pastiche that brings an unexpected freshness to the re-configured Delfina. The mood is definitively now, undeniably cool.
Speaking of cool: coastal soirées often gather around Delfina’s beautiful swimming pool for drinks and finger food. A trio of cabanas are wonderful for showcasing dramatic presentations of culinary masterpieces or your favorite VIPs—or use one of them as a cozy enclave for intimate conversation.
For the ultimate Delfina experience, bring your guests up to the top floor, where the Delfina Penthouse Foyer & Ballroom are the toast of the town. Stepping into the Foyer, your eyes go first to a row of windows which take in the city stretched out below. Well-placed mirrors and framed black-and-white art dress up the walls. Tastefully understated, the space is equally suitable for a corporate meet-and-greet or a classy cocktail reception. The Foyer might also be used in conjunction with the adjoining Lucina Room; cocktails go down just fine here as well, and your guests still enjoy that sweeping view.
Then for the main event, open the doors to the Delfina Ballroom. The hotel’s signature decor perfectly complements the astounding view. A tapestry of breathtaking coastline, ocean waves, and rugged mountains in the distance fills two long walls of windows. As twilight fades to a rainbow-hued sunset, the stars and the city lights begin to sparkle on the horizon, adding extra pizzazz to your festivities.
The Delfina offers wedding packages that include an oceanview Honeymoon Suite, so you and your spouse can sleep late while your out-of-town guests explore Santa Monica’s many attractions.

Fees & Deposits
25% of the estimated event total is required to reserve your date; the balance is due 5 days prior to the event. Luncheons range $40–50/person, dinners $50–70/person; tax and a 20% service charge are additional. Wedding packages start at $89/person and include food, beverage, cake-cutting fee, service charge and sales tax. Alcohol is extra.
For meetings or business functions, meeting room costs are based on food, beverage and guestroom requirements.
