Why We Like This Place
How would you like to celebrate your wedding in a pristine, new facility, loaded with the latest technology and large enough to accommodate the elaborate gala you envision? What if it included an outdoor plaza in a secluded park-like setting—yet was only five minutes from a major freeway? And just for fun, we'll throw in tons of free parking, high-quality catering and event production and a reasonable price tag. Interested? We thought so.Say hello to Serra Center, an attractive and welcoming 14,000-square-foot venue in the foothills of Camarillo. A short drive into this peaceful neighborhood culminates at the top of a hill, where the Serra Center shares a twelve-acre campus with Padre Serra Parish. (If you and your intended want a Catholic ceremony, the church's beautifully modern sanctuary is a fine choice.) Around the grounds, mini-courtyards offer pleasant respites where olive saplings hold lush promise and flowering herbs flavor the air with their rustic aroma. A favorite spot for photos is a circle of lawn edged by young palms, roses and Early California-style wooden benches.
The center itself conveys a clean, contemporary aesthetic warmed by Mission-era details. Pale peach and apricot-hued buildings are trimmed with turquoise and Catalina-blue tiles. Towering palm trees and large, round terracotta planters lining the curb pay a nod to California's heritage. Arriving guests pass a garden of native foliage before ascending a broad staircase to the center's main entrance.
A bright and airy lobby, with sand-colored travertine tile floors and intricate wrought-iron chandeliers, is an elegant place to showcase your gift table. Handsome dark oak double doors open into the spacious event hall with its lofty ceiling. Along two sides, tall windows are inset with corner squares of ruby stained glass for Deco-inspired flair. From on high, clerestory windows bathe your daytime reception in natural light—but should you wish to darken the room for your video montage, window shades and a huge viewing screen descend at the flip of a switch. (The center's state-of-the-art audiovisual amenities really are quite impressive.) A movable stage and generous dance floor provide additional event elements to work with. The hall can be divided into two sections, and there are several annexes should you need another room to entertain children or serve a buffet. The adjoining professional kitchen means food can be prepared, fresh and hot, right on site.
Adjacent to the hall, a serene plaza and lawn lend themselves to an al fresco cocktail hour. Set the bar beneath the shade of the breezeway, and place umbrella-clad tables and chairs on the grass so guests can sup amid the tranquil surroundings. The plaza is also perfect for an outdoor reception, be it a casual barbecue or a dressed-to-the-nines dinner.
Serra Center's in-house caterer, Command Performance, is known for their delectable cuisine, authentic ethnic menus and creative styling. As customization specialists, they'll assist with staging, finding ceremony sites and personalizing your menu. They're an integral part of what makes the versatile Serra Center a "made to order" event location.

Fees & Deposits
A deposit of $2,500 is required to reserve your date and the balance is due 7 days prior to the event. Rental fees range $1,000–5,000 depending on the number of guests and the area rented. Meals range $25–45/person. Tax, alcohol and a 15% service charge are additional.
