Why We Like This Place

Waterfront event sites in Oakland are few and far between, making Scott’s Seafood Restaurant a much sought-after location. It’s conveniently situated in Jack London Square at the edge of the Oakland estuary, with great views of Alameda, San Francisco and the ships passing by.

With six banquet rooms and a waterfront pavilion, Scott’s can handle any type of event. Ceremonies are often held in the Harbor View Rooms, or in the Public Pavilion, a freestanding covered structure with removable walls that can be left off for a full open-air effect or put up for privacy. Even with the walls in place, you can leave open the waterfront side and enjoy a view of the estuary. During the day, sunlight filters in through the translucent ceiling, and at night white globe fixtures suspended from the support beams cast a warm glow. The space can easily be decorated with flowers, balloons or props to complement the theme of your celebration.

If you have a large group but the Pavilion is rented, the three Harbor View Rooms can accommodate your event. They can be reserved separately or combined into one spacious venue. Each room features a faux-painted ceiling, chandeliers, a granite bar and soft moss-green carpeting. While Harbor View Room “A” has a stunning waterfront view, the other two spaces have a classical design with a contemporary feel.

Smaller dinners, meetings and private parties can take place in the Jack London, Empire or Terrace Rooms. The Jack London and Empire Rooms are distinguished by cherrywood paneling and an understated boardroom ambiance. In the Terrace Room, the look is very fresh, with white sandstone tile walls and white wrought-iron chairs next to moss-green carpet and Roman shades. A wall of floor-to-ceiling windows lined with bright planter boxes enhances the garden patio atmosphere, and brings in a view of San Francisco.

Scott’s also offers amenities you won’t find in a standard banquet room: elegant china in black, gold and white, granite bars, and very comfortable upholstered chairs. They can almost always find a way to work within your budget, and they’re happy to customize a menu for you. They’re also one of the few places that specializes in fully kosher events. With a terrific setting and service to match, Scott’s is one East Bay facility you’ll definitely want to consider for your next event.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: Scott’s Waterfront Pavilion holds 350 seated or 800 standing; the Harbor View Rooms accommodate 250 seated or 450 standing guests.

EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: Various interior rooms accommodate 12–250 seated or 20–450 standing guests. The Public Pavilion holds 350 seated or 800 standing.

MEETING CAPACITY: Several spaces accommodate 20–600 seated guests.

Fees & Deposits

A $500/room nonrefundable deposit is required to secure your date. The food and beverage estimate is payable 14 days prior, with the remaining balance due the day of the event. Per-person prices: seated meals and buffets $35–45; hors d’oeuvres $20–25. Alcohol, tax and a 19.25% service charge are additional. A $50/hour room rental fee is charged for meetings.

Availability

Year-round, daily. For weddings and other special events, 7am–midnight except for Christmas Day. Saturday receptions are usually held 11am–4pm or 6pm–midnight. For meetings and business functions, 7am-–midnight.
