Why We Like This Place
107 years ago, the San Jose Country Club really was out in the country, nestled against the Diablo Range foothills and surrounded by ranchland. Today, even though the city has encroached upon it and the 680 freeway is just minutes away, the club retains its peaceful sense of being far from the hurly-burly of civilization.
San Jose Country Club is private, but you need not be a member to have your wedding here. One of its great advantages is flexibility—you can stage an intimate little gathering, a medium-sized celebration, or pull out all the stops for a wedding with 250 guests.
For ceremonies, the club provides the quintessential California setting: Exchange vows in the dappled shade of a centuries-old California live oak at the 6th hole of the golf course—the old tree is so huge and spreading that it forms a natural cathedral on the velvety greens. Or choose a sunny spot between a nearby oak and a willow, with a view of the foothills on one side and a distant vista of downtown San Jose on the other.
If your reception is large, you can have the entire, newly remodeled main floor of the club to yourself. The main dining room is spacious and airy, with windows spanning two sides overlooking the fairway. Crystal chandeliers provide sparkle for nighttime events. There’s a built-in hardwood dance floor, and ample room for a live band or a DJ booth.
Next to the main dining room is the bar, with a semi-circular dining area facing the greens and the ancient oak tree. Dark wood trim, a parquet tile floor and wrought-iron sconces create a clean, contemporary look. A smaller dining area just off the main lobby looks out over the Olympic-size pool below.
Take advantage of the shiny black concert grand piano in the lobby by serving cocktails and hors d’oeuvres accompanied by a jazz trio or soft classical music prior to the banquet. Your guests can sip and nibble in front of the tall fieldstone fireplace, or enjoy the view of the fairway and the distant city beyond through every window. The décor throughout the main floor is updated yet classic, with touches of gleaming brass and mahogany wood trim.
Using only the freshest and finest ingredients, San Jose Country Club specializes in Contemporary American cuisine. Menu options are varied, and designed to offer something for every occasion.
If you’re fond of golf, or just enjoy the outdoorsy ambiance of a golf course, the San Jose Country Club may suit you to a tee. The club’s close-to-the-city convenience combined with its pretty surroundings may make it a match for you.

Fees & Deposits
A $3,000 deposit is required to reserve your date. A further deposit will be required prior to the event with full payment due upon final invoicing. Rental fees range $200–2,000 depending on the space, day and time rented. Meals range $25–100/person. Tax, alcohol and a 20% service charge are additional.
