There’s nothing like being next to the sea, and The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey, towering over the sailboat-filled marina, offers all the amenities of a luxury hotel with the added benefits of a waterfront location. As you enter the lobby, you get your first glimpse of the sophisticated style of this chic hotel. Although the décor is quite elegant, the atmosphere is surprisingly relaxed and casual.

Given its premier setting, The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey is extremely popular for weddings. Its Rose Garden, specifically designed for ceremonies, features a stone and patina-finished wrought-iron gazebo at the end of a flagstone aisle, flanked on both sides by manicured lawns, rose bushes, palm trees and topiary shrubs. Guests will have a hard time taking their eyes off the bride and her entourage as they make their entrance, gliding down a sweeping double staircase with a stone waterfall and koi pond at its center. Fanned by gentle sea breezes, the Rose Garden stays cool even on the warmest days.

You may have trouble choosing from among the lovely reception sites at this fine hotel, so let the size of your guest list be your guide. The Marina Vista Room is ideal for parties of up to 150. Warm and bright, it has a wraparound veranda that overlooks the sparkling pool area and marina promenade.

If you’re planning a larger gala, you’ll want to reserve the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom. Tastefully decorated with delicate crystal chandeliers and silk wall coverings, it can be used in its entirety or divided into three sections. The ballroom’s foyer has views and access to the marina. The adjacent Ballroom Terrace is wonderful for smaller receptions. Like the ballroom foyer, it has large windows, and French doors that open onto the marina promenade, allowing you to walk to the edge of the water.

Every bride likes a little pampering before the big day, and the new waterfront Spa is the place to go with your bridal party or by yourself for last-minute alone time. Let the hotel’s Spa professionals relax your nerves away with a variety of body scrubs, massage treatments and facials that use product lines by Prada Beauty, Payot and Murad. Hands and feet receive special attention in the soothing mani/pedi salon, which can accommodate six members of your bridal party at the same time. The couples massage suite is perfect for the bride and groom who want to share private treatments together.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Rose Garden can accommodate up to 240 seated guests, the Marina Court can accommodate up to 400 seated guests.

EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: Indoors, the site accommodates 30–450 seated guests with a dance floor. Outdoor seating ranges 40–350.

MEETING CAPACITY: Several spaces can accommodate 30–500 seated guests.

Fees & Deposits

For weddings, a nonrefundable deposit in the amount of 25% of the estimated event total is required to reserve your date. An additional 25% of the estimated total is due 90 days prior to the event; the balance is due 10 business days prior. Catering runs $125–140/person for daytime meals or $160–200/person for evening meals, and includes food and beverage, tax, and a 22% service charge. Weekend food and beverage minimums apply. Ceremony fees range $2,000–4,000. Complimentary accommodations may be provided for the bride and groom (depending on the event total), and a special wedding rate is offered for overnight wedding guests for room blocks of 12 or more.

Availability

Year-round, daily including holidays, until 3am. Weddings are usually in 6-hour blocks, 10am–4pm or anytime after 6pm. Beyond 6 hours, additional labor charges may apply.
