Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa

Description

When an already-gorgeous resort undergoes renovations, the result is bound to be impressive—and in the case of the re-born Rancho Las Palmas, the resort delivers on its dazzling promise. Situated in the prestigious community of Rancho Mirage, this destination getaway is just a stone’s throw from The River, a sleek shopping and entertainment district with plenty of pastimes for out-of-towners. Yet once you and your beloved cross the threshold into Rancho Las Palmas’ warm embrace, you’ll find every excuse to stay put and succumb to its romantic spell.

Your experience begins in the breathtaking lobby, edged in wrought-iron balconies and soaring clerestory windows. It seems as if you’ve entered the private drawing room of a wealthy grandee—imagine yourself as the beautiful, indulged daughter who is showered with flattering attentions, and you’ll get a sense of what it feels like to be a bride at Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa! The architecture is an updated version of Spanish Colonial, with the buildings laid out hacienda-style around a pretty garden plaza. Here water spilling over tiled fountains provides a trickling score, while birds and butterflies flit among flowering native plants. The resort boasts over a thousand palm trees, many of which line meandering paths that invite lazy strolls from café to swimming pool—or if you’re here for a wedding, to the ceremony site right on the manicured golf greens.

Guests take their seats in white chairs arranged on the 5th or 6th tee, a swath of lawn encircling a sparkling two-tiered lake with a low waterfall in its midst. The enchanting scene is crowned by a silhouette of the San Jacinto Mountains, dusted with a rosy glow at sunset. Serve cocktails (or a tequila bar!) on the Sunrise Terrace, which overlooks the fairway’s colorful landscaping and waterfall lake. A rustic wood pergola serves up cozy, Old World flavor along with the lovely vista.

Continue the festivities in the great outdoors with a reception on the Starlight Terrace, a spacious rooftop deck with a spectacular vantage of the cityscape and mountain panorama. Alternatively, stage your ceremony or social hour on the Starlight Terrace, followed by formal dining in one of two luxurious ballrooms. Your Rancho Las Palmas Catering Manager will help you choose the right combination to make the most of your celebration.

Everything at Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa is first class, and thoughtful amenities help make your destination event a breeze. The resort’s culinary experts include an award-winning pastry chef to craft your wedding cake, while the world-class Spa Las Palmas coifs, polishes and pampers with global-inspired rituals and treatments. At the new swimming and recreation complex, you’ll find a “Quiet Pool” for serene sunbathing, and a family pool area, which features an incredible 425-foot lazy river meandering around two 100-foot waterslides. There’s even a Starbuck’s on site!

Deluxe accommodations provide the final touch. For their wedding night, the resort treats newlyweds to a complimentary (and usually upgraded) guestroom. Spacious and gracefully appointed, its plush bedding encourages lingering under the covers. French doors open onto a private patio, for an enjoyable afternoon brunch al fresco—and a deux!

A desert classic for decades, the newly unveiled Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa has re-emerged as a haven of elegance, tranquility and hospitality.
