Why We Like This Place

It's the fourth largest hotel in the City by the Bay and unquestionably one of the best. Located right off Union Square on a chic little street named after famed businessman, arts patron and arbiter of style, Cyril Magnin, Parc 55 is definitely in the heart of The City's premier shopping, restaurant, gallery and theater district. It's also elegant, modern and one hundred percent San Francisco.

Impeccable service is apparent in the doorman's greeting as you enter the vast first-floor gallery. Walls of windows bathe the white and beige interior in natural light. Shape and texture dictate direction. There's a spa on this level, but for now, follow the patterned walkway past the comfortable seating arrangements and conversation areas to the elevators or the Grand Stair. Stop to pose for a photo in front of the art wall at the top of the stairs, then proceed to the second-floor lobby where a two-story atrium with floor-to-ceiling windows welcomes you with a registration counter and a concierge to direct your adventurous guests in their further Bay Area explorations. This floor also houses Parc 55's restaurant, Crave, with private space for cocktails, dinner and pre- or post-event brunches.

Escalators and elevators take you to the third floor, where the capacious, handsomely appointed Barcelona Room, along with six other meeting rooms, can be used as the occasion dictates: ceremonies, receptions, parties, conferences and conventions. A subtle fascination with geometry is evident in floors and ceilings, where rectangular forms etched into the pale slate carpets mirror the sculptural elements in stunning contemporary fixtures and evoke movement and energy without overwhelming.

An ascent to the fourth floor via escalator or elevator brings you and your guests to an enormous 5,500 square-foot prefunction space that includes the Atrium, with its 14-foot windows framing views of Market Street and Cyril Magnin. Three sets of double doors open to the magnificent 5,600-square-foot Parc Ballroom, which can accommodate galas and corporate extravaganzas catered to perfection in an atmosphere of contemporary sophistication and style. It can be sectioned into three smaller chambers with doors leading onto a windowed lounge area. An additional seven meeting salons further multiply options by converting into breakout rooms of various configurations and dimensions. Almost all of the event spaces feature windows that provide abundant light and great views of the cityscape.

Up on the 31st Floor, the Executive Club Lounge overlooking The City is a marvelous choice for a private rehearsal dinner or morning-after brunch. Stainless steel and art glass mix with dark wood, leather and suede in natural tones to create an environment of sleek modernity. The 180-degree views are just the thing to make spirits soar.

Whatever your event at Parc 55, you won't want your sublime experience to end when the party is over, so why retire to less spectacular digs? Book a suite with two bedrooms, a parlor, dining room and Jacuzzi bath or one of the Club Rooms on the top six floors.

Needless to say there is no shortage of support staff, service and amenities in this strikingly renovated 32-floor property. The 1,010 deluxe rooms offer every comfort, and the hotel retains an intimate feel. Suggest overnighting to all of your guests—that way, they can sit back after the celebration and relax in the lap of luxury.
