Why We Like This Place
The Palm Ballroom is located in scenic Marin County on the San Rafael Canal, framed by a sweeping view of the oak-studded hills of San Rafael. The draw of the Palm Ballroom is that it’s a plush banquet hall—the kind of space usually only found in a large hotel—directly connected to the Seafood Peddler, a fresh seafood restaurant that has been voted Marin’s Best Seafood Restaurant for the last five consecutive years by the Pacific Sun’s readers.
“We host weddings, rehearsal dinners, dances, holiday events, monthly groups, seminars and retirement parties,” says the Banquet Manager. “Any event that needs a spacious room and superb, made-to-order food.” People often comment after a Palm Ballroom event: “I can’t remember the last time I’ve had a hot meal at a banquet that was actually served hot!”
The Palm Ballroom’s exceptional service will ensure that your wedding and reception will go off without a hitch. They offer a customizable menu and are happy to help you select a compatible vintage from their extensive wine list. Their all-inclusive wedding package covers virtually every detail. “There aren’t too many one-stop facilities like us,” the Banquet Manager observes. “We customize everything—colors, linens, bar setups, seating arrangements, and even stationery.”
The Palm Ballroom has a separate entrance from the restaurant. As you walk through the double French doors, you notice the unique light fixtures designed by a local artist. Matching wall sconces cast a soft glow on the custom wallpaper, a frieze of stylized light olive palm trees on a desert sand-colored background. The room has several live palm trees that can be moved to change the mood and layout. French doors on the back wall lead out to a small latticework patio, where people can take a break from the festivities. A plush red velvet curtain on the room’s south wall serves as an excellent backdrop for the wedding party. The full-service bar in the corner invites a lively flow of guests through the room.
The Waterfront Patio with its flower-lined arbor is a lovely spot for a wedding ceremony next to the water. Smaller events are held in the Waterfront Room, an informal second-floor space with huge picture windows that’s great for dancing, banquets or cocktail parties. The cozy Chart Room is popular for showers, board meetings and small rehearsal dinners.
With its beautifully appointed banquet room and personalized services, the Palm Ballroom has developed a loyal following in the North Bay. They believe in giving clients flawless, memorable events. “We don’t have a set formula for doing parties,” promises the Banquet Manager. “Everything we do here is distinct.”

Fees & Deposits
A $600 deposit is required to reserve your date. The event balance is payable 5 days before the event. For events taking place in the Palm Room, a $350 rental fee applies and includes setup, linens, candles and a cordless microphone.
