Description
A short drive off the main four-lane thoroughfare of Moorpark, you pass the vintage buildings of "old town" that give a teasing glimpse into the history of this growing Ventura County suburb. But continue the climb up the gentle curving road, and you’ll come to the real intersection of old and new California. Until recently, these hills were strictly ranch countryhorses, lemons, and avocados. Today, with more people discovering the area’s charms, luxury developments are beginning to grow alongside the citrus. The Moorpark Country Club, at the crest of one of these hills, offers the opportunity for you and your guests to savor both the original raw beauty of the canyons and the modern amenities of this elegant new facility.
Located within the Country Club Estates, this privately owned compound of three 9-hole golf courses is presided over by an expansive clubhouse that dedicates an entire wing to your wedding and offers a serenity that belies its proximity to town. As you arrive, the first thing that greets you is the circular flagstone plaza with its carved travertine sculpture depicting three horses rising out of a fountain. Your hilltop ceremony site to the left comes with its own private parking area and offers a picturesque gazebo with a manicured lawn and profusion of flowers. Yet it’s the grand reveal of peaceful vistas that takes your breath away. If you believe that nature is inspirational, then you will be totally inspired by the setting. Layers of rolling hills spread out in front of you, an occasional horse is seen on a distant trail and a lone hawk soars above, taking advantage of a thermal lift while the breeze rustles through the pepper trees.
This soothing atmosphere continues as you move to your cocktail reception, which can be held either on the stone-pillared outdoor patio or inside in the Foyer. The warm interior color palette, including butter yellow and caramel, complements the view of the grassy hillside beyond the golf course. Speaking of which, while your guests enjoy a sumptuous buffet of hors d’oeuvres, a cart whisks you and your new husband to the 1st tee, which is closed to golfers during your wedding, and makes a beautiful backdrop for photos.
Before being photographed, however, every woman wants to look her best, and Moorpark Country Club helps out by providing a cozy bride’s room for private primping. Brides and their attendants are so comfortable here—given the triple mirror and other nice appointments—that photographers actually like to take pictures of them in this space because they’re so relaxed.
When it’s time for dinner and dancing, the Grand Ballroom sets a romantic mood with its large Etruscan stone urns filled with greenery and twinkling lights. A thousand prisms from the intricate crystal chandeliers cast a soft glow in this capacious room, which can be sectioned for an intimate event, if you like. Fifteen-foot ceilings make the Ballroom feel open and airy, while wraparound windows dressed with gossamer tieback drapery lend a formal touch.
Glance out the glass doors to your left, or better yet, step back onto the patio and you can see the lighted gazebo where you’ve just pledged your love. No doubt, the wide-open canyon skies will be dotted with stars. This juxtaposition of a starry canopy outside and glittering lights inside is just one of the lovely images that will linger for years from your wedding at Moorpark Country Club.

Fees & Deposits
A $1,000 deposit is required to reserve your date. The balance is due 14 days prior to the event. There are no rental fees. Meals range $60–110/person. Tax and service charge are additional.
