Description

The 30-acre seaside property, lushly landscaped with indigenous plants, won instant acclaim after its opening in February 2003, including the ultimate accolade: the title of "Best of the Best Resorts" in the annual Robb Report ranking of luxury products and services.
Montage’s inspired melding of oceanfront opulence and cozy-inn warmth is obvious as soon as you step into the Lobby. Elegantly designed furnishings evoke a sense of relaxation and ease, while its balcony often makes visitors gasp in wonder. From this exhilarating five-story-high perch, guests are treated to a stunning 160-degree ocean panorama, as well as views of the resort’s verdant outdoor wedding venues, the Pacific and Ocean Lawns. These side-by-side expanses of meticulously tended grass lie 50 feet above the beach and offer their own sweeping ocean vistas.
Lovely indoor settings are provided by the resort’s two ballrooms, accessed through a beautifully proportioned, arch-edged courtyard. The Gallery Ballroom has a creamy Italian-glazed finish on its walls, with green accents and light wood trim, while the more spacious Grand Ballroom features fine touches such as wool carpeting patterned after vintage textiles, antique gold Panache chandeliers and rich silk wall fabric—all enhanced by a soft peach-and-cream color scheme. Rehearsal dinners and small receptions are hosted in the nearby Boardroom, highlighted by a striking Arts & Crafts Movement-inspired motif. Montage’s signature restaurant, Studio, is another sublime choice for a rehearsal dinner. Situated atop a 50-foot bluff, its cuisine is accompanied by sea breezes and views through open-air windows.
At Montage, the food and amenities are every bit as luxurious as the décor. The resort has assembled some of the country’s finest chefs to head up its culinary team, including a renowned pastry chef whose wedding cakes are memorable custom creations. Tables are dressed with brocade linen underlays and white Frette linen overlays and napkins. Each place setting is appointed with a gold-beaded baseplate, fine Baucher china, Reidel crystal stemware and Christofle silverware. In keeping with Laguna Beach’s artistic heritage, Montage showcases a museum-quality collection of fine art, sculpture and ceramics, as well as commissioned public artworks. The presence of so many notable pieces lends a decidedly urbane flair to any event.
Another Montage showpiece is its 20,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor spa, where relaxation is an art form. Brides especially will want to take advantage of the hair, makeup and nail services, not to mention the variety of rejuvenating herbal and hydrotherapy body treatments.

Fees & Deposits
For weddings, a deposit of 25% of the estimated event total is required to book the site. An additional 50% of the event balance is payable 90 days prior to the wedding; full payment is due 14 days prior. Rental fees range $6,500–7,000. Receptions include hors d’oeuvres, full bar service and plated meals. Seated dinner events run $250–300/person. Tax and a 22% service charge are additional.
