Who wouldn’t love to have a luxurious resort all to themselves for their wedding? Most of us can’t afford such a pricey indulgence, so it’s lucky that there’s Los Willows Garden Estate and Vineyard, a 44-acre venue in the hills of San Diego. Los Willows offers the lush splendor of a tropical oasis, along with upscale amenities like a spa, full-service salon, gourmet cuisine, deluxe accommodations, and superb service—all for a surprisingly reasonable price tag. What’s more, Los Willows’ experienced coordinators oversee each detail of your dream wedding. And with only one event per day, yours will get all the attention—and privacy—it deserves.

Though there are several lovely ceremony spots to choose from, most couples wed at the lakeside garden gazebo, largely because it affords such a show-stopping bridal entrance. For brides who select this option, here’s how the scene unfolds: Guests wait expectantly alongside a serene spring-fed lake near a graceful weeping willow. Then, a bell peals and all eyes turn as a boat glides toward the crowd carrying precious cargo: you, the bride. Attendants help you disembark, and you walk down a bricked aisle…. After that “first kiss,” you and your new husband reboard for a celebratory champagne cruise.

Meanwhile, friends and family gather for the cocktail hour in another scenic outdoor area with a built-in illuminated bar and a cozy stone hearth, as the sky makes its enchanting transition from sunset to starry night and twinkling white lights sparkle throughout the grounds. Receptions are equally captivating, staged inside a beautiful climate-controlled tent pavilion. An elegantly draped ceiling boasts a breathtaking six-foot Swarovski crystal chandelier, casting its soft glow on the polished oak dance floor. Guests dine on gourmet cuisine, courtesy of the in-house caterer. Whether you opt for a sit-down dinner, a buffet or cocktail soirée, the chef is happy to customize your menu, including ethnic specialties. After the bouquet toss, everyone says their farewells as you and your groom are whisked away in a vintage Rolls Royce…but chances are you won’t be going very far.

That’s because most couples spend their wedding night at Los Willows’ exclusive bed & breakfast hilltop inn. Reserved just for the newlyweds and their wedding party, the inn offers a stunning vantage from which to survey the secluded, peaceful estate grounds below. Other pastimes include sipping Los Willows’ private label wine by the pool or strolling among the grapevines of the adjoining vineyard. The Inn’s guestrooms each feature Tuscan-inspired décor with trompe l’oeil art on the walls, a plush king-size bed, and whirlpool tub. An innkeeper is on hand to ensure that you’re properly pampered, even serving you a homemade breakfast on your private patio near a 60-foot cascading waterfall.

All you need for your wedding day or weekend is here at Los Willows, including roomy bridal quarters for preparing in comfort and style. A full-service spa and salon means you and your gal pals can get your hair, nails, and makeup done for your spotlight moments. (How about a girls-only spa party, topped off with massages or whirlpool pedicures?) You can also unwind with body treatments, alone or with your betrothed. You’ll enjoy uninterrupted privacy because the salon and spa, like the inn, are reserved just for your wedding party.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Lakeside Wedding Gazebo and lawn area hold 250 seated guests.
EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The air-cooled or heated Pavilion can seat 250 guests.
MEETING CAPACITY: The Main Meeting Room can accommodate 40 seated guests; there are 4 other breakout rooms that seat 10–12 people each.

Fees & Deposits

For weddings, a $1,000 nonrefundable deposit is required to secure your date. 25% of the estimated total is due 9 months prior, 25% is due 6 months prior and the balance and final guest count are due 18 days prior. Wedding packages begin at $100/person. The price includes: 5 hours for the ceremony/reception plus 1½ hours prior for dressing and photography; full use of the on-site state-of-the-art salon for bridal party hair & makeup; a wedding planner and wedding coordinator; complimentary guest parking; professional event security; all setup and cleanup; wedding boat grand entrance and champagne cruise on the lake; buffet, served meal or station menu; champagne toast; custom wedding cake; vintage Rolls Royce departure and much more. Alcohol packages are available. Tax and a 20% service charge are extra. Additional hours run $600/hour.

Rates for other social events, corporate events and meetings vary. Each event is custom priced.
