Why We Like This Place
For generations, the classic Beaux Arts-style Legion of Honor Museum has been revered as a favorite backdrop for movies, weddings and special events. Situated in Lincoln Park, it enjoys an enviable location overlooking the headlands, Golden Gate Bridge, and the Pacific Ocean. Hidden within this famous landmark is the Legion of Honor Café, a perfect venue in its own right for exclusive events, romantic receptions and business functions.
The café occupies a private niche on the garden level of the museum, with a view of the park’s numerous cypress trees and Monterey pines. Its granite patio, shaded by a canopy of mature olive trees, provides a classically inspired setting for an al fresco celebration.
Indoors, large picture windows and French doors infuse the restaurant with natural light, accentuating the café’s high ceiling, hardwood floors, glazed plaster walls, and antiqued mirror panels. The overall effect echoes the airy, refined ambiance of the museum’s galleries. Sliding silver-leaf doors can divide the 3,000-square-foot space into a variety of configurations, making it equally suitable for large or small parties. You may also rent the entire museum, and host a ceremony and/or cocktail party amidst the amazing Rodin Sculpture Collection.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Balustrade Area, to the right of the museum entrance, and the Rodin Court of Honor, each hold up to 275 seated guests. The indoor Rodin Gallery can accommodate 120 seated, and the Florence Gould Theater seats 300. |

Fees & Deposits
Rental fees start at $5,000 and vary depending on the rental package selected. 50% of the Facility Fee is due at the time of booking. The balance and final guest count are due at least 60 days prior to the event.
Availability
Year-round, daily, starting at 6:30pm. Additional hours are available for an extra fee. Closed on major holidays.
