Description
Built on a bluff overlooking the Batiquitos Lagoon, the Four Seasons Resort Aviara shares its rolling hills, lakes and lagoon with 130 species of birds who make their annual pilgrimage here. Naturalists from across the country come to study the flora and fauna that thrive along the lagoon’s shores, and hundreds of acres of chaparral and eucalyptus have been left untouched to maintain the resort’s natural beauty.
The resort offers numerous options for weddings, parties and meetings. The Aviara Salon is a ballroom with a spacious foyer, private courtyard and terrace. A combination of features lends the room a regal ambiance: a high coffered ceiling, crystal chandeliers and wall sconces, ivory wainscoting and a sophisticated color scheme of blush, cranberry and champagne. Two sets of French doors and multiple shuttered windows open onto the Aviara Courtyard and the Aviara Terrace respectively. Both are intimate patios fashioned of white marble tiles and enlivened by palms and potted plants. Guests flow effortlessly between the ballroom and these outdoor spaces, enjoying the mix of formal and garden settings.
The Grand Ballroom is similar to the Aviara Salon in décor, but the colors here are an exquisite blend of saffron, gold and ivory. Chandeliers are suspended from deep recesses in the 25-foot coved ceiling. Mirrored panels throughout reflect the light, and seem to expand the dimensions of this already large space. Guests in the ballroom’s prefunction area can sip champagne beneath potted palms while admiring the marble credenzas and gilt-framed mirrors.
The newly expanded wing of the hotel offers two additional function rooms. The Avalon Ballroom, the larger of the pair, features walls that are elegantly upholstered in green damask and complemented by soft velvet drapery. A finely carved console with a large gilded mirror reflects the beauty of the room. The Laviana Ballroom is lovely in its own right, with apricot-toned wall coverings and striped apricot and coral drapes. Each ballroom opens out to a private terrace warmed by two stone fireplaces and graced by a beautiful fountain, covered in a mosaic of Spanish tiles in celadon, soft blue and ochre tones. During the day guests enjoy a view of the golf course’s 8th fairway, and at night they can celebrate under the stars.
Nine other meeting rooms, ranging from 450 to 1,600 square feet, are suitable for executive board meetings and breakout rooms. Many of Aviara’s function rooms have outdoor terraces and balconies, with spectacular vistas of the resort’s extraordinary setting. Landscaped gardens and courtyards are available for receptions, social gatherings and group activities.
Couples who tie the knot at the Resort have a beautiful ceremony site to utilize in conjunction with the ballroom of their choice: the meticulously landscaped Palm Courtyard. Centrally located, this al fresco space is bordered by lofty palms and a multitude of trees, and anchored by a grand fountain ringed with potted flowers.
The Resort’s food and service are commensurate with the high quality of the facility. Golf is a major attraction, and guests also have access to tennis courts, two pools and a very upscale spa/fitness center.

Fees & Deposits
25% of the estimated event total is required as a deposit to book an event. An approximate guest count is due 2 weeks before the wedding; the balance is payable 10 days prior to the event. Ceremony site fees range $2,500–3,500, and include rehearsal time, chairs, 2 microphones and sound system. 3-course luncheons start at $46/person, 4-course dinners at $110/person; alcohol, hors d’oeuvres, tax and a 21% service charge are additional.
