If Cinderella and Prince Charming wanted to marry in Malibu, they might reserve the Enchanted Sea Cottage as their exclusive seaside paradise. Perched on a bluff above the Pacific, the Cottage grounds offer all the charms of a garden oasis, with an oceanside setting as an inspiring bonus.You get your first inkling of the Cottage's delights at the end of the cobblestone driveway, where you're welcomed by a graceful mermaid and winsome pixie painted on a pair of wooden gates. When the gates open to admit you, it's hard to know what to take in first: the slice of ocean glistening on the horizon; the terraced garden park to the left; or the chalet-style cottage trimmed with window-boxes, and set off by a turret and a pool with its own footbridge!
The tangy sea air, laced with the seductive aroma of roses, beckons you to explore. First stop is the heart-shaped Sweetheart Lawn ringed with white roses all year and azure-blossomed agapanthus in the summer. Arbors entwined with climbing roses and flagstone pathways amble down the sloping park to a rose garden bursting with blooms in seashell pink, sunny yellow, warm coral and passionate red. Like a pretty swag of vintage chintz, the bower instantly cheers and brightens. In one corner, stone benches clustered beneath eucalyptus boughs offer a cozy nook for whispering "sweet nothings."
A flight of stone steps descends to the Courtyard, a paved enclave in front of the pool. More ornamental than recreational, the small pool has a low waterfall and playful waterspouts. The arching footbridge is a lovely setting for photos, as well as the perfect place to make a wish. Nearby, Cupid and a bust of Homer guard a petite koi grotto fringed with feathery reeds. Receptions in the Courtyard take on a fairy-tale ambiance, tucked between the water features and the garden staircase, which is flanked by a pair of fanciful sphinx statues. Or arrange dining tables and chairs up on the Sweetheart Lawn, where flowering foliage lends a bucolic dreaminess to gatherings. This area is also great for a family reunion.
The most magical spot to incorporate into your celebration is the Ocean Blufftop behind the cottage. While guests look on from a curve of lawn, say your vows next to a blooming garden patch, accompanied by a pastel sunset, cavorting dolphins and the rhythm of the waves.
To extend the idyllic mood beyond the celebration, reserve the two-story guest quarters, with a private sun deck overlooking the coast. Nautically themed décor and comfortable amenities invite you to cuddle up to a breathtaking view, and be lulled to sleep by the sound of the crashing surf.

Fees & Deposits
50% of the rental fee is required to reserve your date. The balance is due two weeks prior to the event. Rental fees range $7,500–13,500 depending on the guest count. A one night stay for the bride and groom in the bridal studio is included. Meals by Monrose Coordinator & Catering Co. start at $35/person. Alcohol, tax and a 20% service charge are additional.
