Description
Sometimes you encounter a place so completely unexpected it takes your breath away. Edgewood Tahoe is certain to do just that. As you drive through the pine forest along Lake Parkway, only the occasional glimpse of green fairway hints at what lays ahead. Suddenly the trees part and there, spread out before you, is a gorgeous scene: a striking timber-and-glass clubhouse rises from a small hill, while the sparkling blue water of the nation’s deepest alpine lake and the soaring peaks of the Sierra Nevadas frame the building like a living photograph.
After parking the car you may be tempted to linger beside the lake to take in the view and listen to the waves lap against the shore. When you’re ready to move on, low rock walls usher you along the steps and pathways leading up to the clubhouse. Everything about the building feels as immense and majestic as its surroundings. Granite boulders rest on the sloping lawns. Tall windows reflect the passing clouds. And the multiple gables of the gray roof alternately soar skyward and slant close to the ground, mimicking the mountains in the background.
The interior of the clubhouse is equally dramatic: massive beams support the expansive vaulted ceilings throughout the building; sunlight streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows that grace nearly every room; and, in the center of the long entrance hall, granite rock pillars draped with ferns mark the way up the steps to the spacious bar and lounge.
The best views of Lake Tahoe can be seen from the nearly identical North and South Rooms, located on either side of the lounge. Both of these banquet spaces have their own patios and adjoining decks, which create a wonderful indoor-outdoor flow. In each room, peaked windows along three walls bring the scenery inside, creating a mountain cathedral atmosphere. Guests are treated to the sight of whitecaps racing across the lake in the afternoon, and panoramic views of the Sierras, where snow sometimes clings to the uppermost ridges far into June.
The patios were specifically designed for wedding ceremonies, with the lake and mountains providing a glorious backdrop. After the ceremony, appetizers are served in the banquet room you’ve chosen for your reception. During the summer guests often enjoy their champagne and hors d’oeuvres at tables on the adjoining deck before moving inside for a sit-down dinner or buffet. In the winter, the entire wedding can be held in the larger North Room. Vows are exchanged in front of the picture window overlooking the snow-covered landscape. Family and friends then follow the newlyweds into the lobby for cocktails, while Edgewood quickly rearranges the hall for the reception.
Afternoon and evening weddings held on weekends book quickly at Edgewood, especially in the summer and fall. You will often find it easier to make a reservation for a weekend morning or for a weekday. Not only is the Clubhouse much more available, but the breeze off the lake is calmest before noon, and nearby lodging is less expensive Monday through Friday. No matter what season or time of day you choose for your wedding, one thing is a given: the scenery will never be anything less than beautiful.

Fees & Deposits
A nonrefundable deposit ranging $3,000–4,000 is required to reserve your date. The balance is due 4 weeks prior to the event. Rental fees range $1,500–5,000 depending on the day of week and space rented. Meals range $34–60/person. Tax, alcohol, and a 19% service charge are additional.
Ceremony fees or chair covers are an additional charge. There are no cake cutting, parking or other rental fees.
