Why We Like This Place

Creekside Terrace was borne of the romantic vision of two people in love. Pat and Augusto purchased this view-filled spread with the idea of designing an awe-inspiring wedding location; it was bound to turn out fantastically, since the couple also planned on using it for their own summer wedding.

Though conveniently located near a main highway, Creekside is totally secluded. A private treelined drive takes visitors onto the grounds, a gently sloping hillside surrounded by coastal oaks. Tucked between unspoiled hills and a forested stream, this exclusive haven feels oh-so-close to nature.

The first part of the couple’s dream project involved renovating the 100-year-old genuine log cabin, which is poised atop a narrow plateau. Quaint and welcoming beneath a canopy of leafy boughs, the cabin’s burnished redwood façade seems as fresh as if its planks had just been hewn; at the same time, embellishments like river-rock steps and trim contribute a nostalgic charm. With a pretty lawn and garden, and several small areas paved with textured rose-colored concrete, the cabin’s immaculate front yard is a delightful milieu for pre-party mingling or cocktail gatherings. Inside the cabin, Pat and Augusto have outfitted the rooms for bridal party preparations, with separate quarters for guys and gals. The Great Room has a picture window that lets a bride preview the unfolding scene before making her grand entrance.

While the cabin’s ambiance is warm and down-to-earth, the event areas are breathtaking and dramatic. Broad steps lead from the cabin to two descending terraces fashioned of river rock. With teak benches and upscale café tables and umbrellas, terrace receptions take on a mood of Tuscan-style conviviality. On the other side of the stairs, flagstone and rocks have been artfully arranged into a magnificent tropical waterfall. As the watery cascade glistens in the waning rays of the sun, guests succumb to the hypnotic sound of the water’s flow.

Another captivating element at Creekside is the view. From the terraces, a vast carpet of manicured lawn makes a gradual descent towards the forest’s edge. Through billowy trees, glimpses of a meandering creek seem like a beguiling mirage. The placid vision of sparkling Lexington Reservoir is a sweep of blue in the distance. Against this picturesque backdrop, a simple pergola stands, waiting for a bride and groom…

Pat and Augusto had intended to say their vows in that very spot, but a funny thing happened on the day of their wedding. The guest chairs were arranged on the grass and everything was in place for the arrival of friends and family. Then Pat was suddenly struck by an adventurous impulse: Why not get married on one of the waterfall’s flagstone landings amid the mist and ornamental ferns? Being the bride, her whim was gratified, seating was quickly rearranged, and Pat officially inaugurated the waterfall as a resplendent ceremony option!

Creekside Terrace Estate is available exclusively through Panetta’s Catering, event pros whose attractively priced, full-service packages expertly pull all the elements together. Panetta’s joins Pat and Augusto in extending a gracious invitation to bask in this estate’s many charms.

CEREMONY, EVENT/RECEPTION & meeting CAPACITY: The site holds a maximum of 150 seated or 200 standing guests outdoors.

Fees & Deposits

A $1,000 deposit is required to reserve your date. The balance is due 30–90 days prior to the event. Rental fees range $3,000–5,000 depending on the date rented. Meals start at $60/person. Tax, alcohol and an 18% service charge are additional.

Availability

Available from late April–early October. Just one event takes place on the property per day. Hours are flexible, and amplified music must be over by 10pm.
